Time to say Goodbye to some favourite Stampin' Up! products

The Stampin' Up! Retirement Lists 2014 are live. The lists feature all the products that are retiring from our current Annual Catalogue and are available only while supplies last.

Please note the stamp list also contains French and German sets so please make sure you select the English alternative. The accessories list is in page number order, so be sure to have the catalogue in hand as you read through the list.

I really cannot stress enough how quickly items go out of stock from these lists. The easiest way to get your hands on them is to place an online order through my STORE. Isle of Wight Craft Party- Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board Makes

Good morning and what an exciting week we have ahead of us with the new Stampin' Up! catalogue launching TOMORROW!!! I cannot wait to share some projects and products with you all and also start placing orders from the new catalogue. There are SO many lovely new things I'd like to have a craft with. If you haven't got your hands on a copy of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue yet, please drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk and I'll happily pop one in the post for you.

I demonstrated for some lovely friends of mine on Friday evening. At the request of the hostess we made two projects using the Stampin' Up! Envelope Punch Board. My ladies love crafting with their boards and wanted some extra inspiration. So I had a quick search on Pinterest for some unusual punch board ideas and found these lovely two projects by a fellow Demonstrator, Sam Donald. I loved how she has created two boxes thinking outside of the usual EPB box (tee hee!).

The first is this curved sweetie treat box.  I used the very soon to be retired Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper to create both boxes. I love the big splodges of colour on this paper design. If you'd like to get hold of this paper then place your order super quick as its only available for the rest of today and then it will be gone for good!

The box was designed to hold two tubes of Love Hearts. But I managed to squeeze a treat size Crunchie and Chomp in to the sweetie holder. You can see a little sneak peek of a new little punch from the new Stampin' Up! catalogue above. I love this new little floral punch which comes as part of a set with a star and little heart too.

The second project we made was this standing sweetie holder. It was perfect for using with a Medium Cello Bag filled with some M&Ms. I love how this stands alone and would make a perfect wedding favour or table place setting. You can change the occasion or season simply by using a different colour scheme or Designer Series Paper.

Thank you to all who popped by to my new catalogue Open House on Saturday. We had a lovely day creating and chatting (and eating some tasty biscuits too). As you can see from the photos below my own copy of the new catalogue has been super busy. Firstly it is showing off the creative make and take on Saturday designed to showcase the FAB new Blendabilities.

And after all the excitement of my Open House both my babies fell asleep for about an hour and a half of Saturday. As you can imagine a whole 90 minutes of quiet time is rare in this house, so I tucked up on the sofa with my littlies sleeping either side of me and I made my (very long) wishlist of stamps, punches, dies, embossing folders, pens, Designer Series Papers, Project Life sets... and much much more. Something tells me I won't be ordering it all at once. Unless I win the lottery in the mean time of course......

Please let me know if you'd like a copy of the catalogue. I'd love to pop one in the post to you.

And don't forget today is the last chance to order from the Retiring List. So if there is a product you'd love to own from the current catalogue please check my online store to make sure it is not on the Retiring List. Tomorrow is a brand new catalogue and all retiring products will be gone for good.

Please get in touch with any questions, I'd love to help: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Craft and Card Making Classes on the Isle of Wight: Afternoon Picnic Fancy Fold Sympathy Card

Good morning crafty friends. I was browsing (OK so I lost several hours!) on Pinterest for fancy fold cards for my card class last month when I came across this Fancy Flap Card tutorial. I thought this was such a simple addition to a standard card to make a fancy fold. Sadly I also had cause to create a sympathy card for a dear Demonstrator friend and wanted to make something a bit special for her. I combined the two and came up with this lovely gentle card creation.

I used the soon to retire Afternoon Picnic Designer Series Papers (items are selling fast on the retiring list. Order quickly before they are gone!) with a Pear Pizzazz card base layered with Very Vanilla and Wisteria Wonder.

The card base is a standard half A4 (14.8cm x 21cm). I cut the flap at 14cm x 12.5cm (the score line was at 2cm to create the hinge to attach to the back of the cardbase). I created the triangle by marking the flap at 7.4cm on three sides and cutting the triangular flaps off. I used my Square Framelits to create the window.

The bird image is from a retired stamp set called Elements of Style. The stamp is no longer available, however, you can still use the stamp brush set through My Digital Studio. If you colour your image and size it within the programme. You can then print on Very Vanilla and cut with your Framelits or Trimmer.

Click the image below to check all the items on the Retiring List. These items are only available for FOUR MORE DAYS. All items will be retired on Monday June 30th ready for the launch of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue on Tuesday July 1st.

Please get in touch with any questions or queries or please pop over to my Online Store for more information on all our products. Get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Cardmaking and craft class on the Isle of Wight: Stampin' Up!'s Simply Sketched Poppy

To celebrate the Retiring Lists I was looking through all my stamp sets that are retiring and decided to use my favourites for class projects for June. I found this beautiful card on Pinterest and decided I had to give it a go as it uses two of my favourite retiring stamp sets. Simply Sketched is my favourite hostess set of the past few years (such beautiful stamped images perfect for masking and layering) and En Francais is the most used stamp in my collection (I love creating swirly text backgrounds with this large background stamp).

To create this card I started with a standard half of A4 card base in Soft Suede. I then cut a layer from Baked Brown Sugar (10cm x 14.3cm). I used my Circle Framelits to cut the circle window in the Baked Brown Sugar layer. I then used my Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to edge the circle with my Piercing Tool.

I created the stamped layer with a 9.5cm square of Very Vanilla cardstock. I inked the En Francais (which has subsequently now sold out from the Retiring List) stamp with Crumb Cake. To get a more subtle background effect I first stamped off on to a scrap piece of paper and then stamped my Very Vanilla piece. This lightened the background stamping.

We then stamped the greeting and poppy image in Soft Suede and then coloured using ink from the lid of the ink pad and a Blender Pen (we coloured the poppy with Tangerine Tango). To finish we stamped the leaf image from Simply Sketched in Soft Suede in the corners of the Baked Brown Sugar layer (which was secured to the Soft Suede base with Dimensionals).

So as you can see from above, items are selling out fast from the Retiring Lists. If you'd like to see the lists of items and what is now unavailable you can see this post pinned to the top of my page. Alternatively, click on the picture below to click through to my online store to browse items available until Monday only (June 30th).

Cardmaking and Craft Classes on the Isle of Wight: Scallop Tag Punch Gift Box

Hello all! Hope you've had a creative and sunshine filled weekend. Saturday was my monthly card class here in Newport on the Isle of Wight. We had a lovely class full of chat and cheeriness and creativity.

If you'd like to find out more about my upcoming classes check out my sidebar or the class tab at the top.
My upcoming classes will be held at my home in Newport on:
  • Saturday July 19th 1-4pm
  • Saturday August 23rd 1-4pm

Classes cost £8.00 for 3 cards and a 3D item (gift box or gift bag)

I also have two special events coming up in August. My annual Christmas Crafting Days will be held on:
  • Friday August 8th 10am-4pm
  • Saturday August 16th 10am-4pm

This is a special event I hold every year to get you in the festive spirit ready for the festive crafting season (which we all know starts in the summer!). We make a wide range of projects. In previous years we have made a Christmas planner, stamped tealights and a matching votive holder, a papercrafted Christmas tree for a table centrepiece, a mini album and a huge variety of cards and gift bags. The day costs £20 which includes the kits to make all projects. I ask all attendees to bring along their own selection of glue and a packed lunch too.

Get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 to book your place or to find out more.

Today's crafty make was a box we made at the class on Saturday. I found this tutorial online for creating the basic design of the box which uses the FAB Scallop Tag Topper Punch as a closure for the gift box.

Once the basic box was cut and scored from Daffodil Delight cardstock we decorated with the soon to retire 2012-2014 In Color Cardstock (Midnight Muse and Gumball Green)  layered with the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. I love this paper and will be so sad to see it retire (but equally as excited about all the new lovely paper collections to arrive in the new catalogue).

To finish we created these little floral features using a fab sneak peek product from the new annual catalogue, the Itty Bitty Punch Accents punch pack. We embellished with Brights Candy Dots.

Check out all the products that are retiring by clicking the image below. All the retiring products are only available for another week. June 30th is your last opportunity to purchase these before the arrival of the new catalogue on July 1st.

Please get in touch with any questions or queries or please pop over to my Online Store for more information on all our products. Get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

My Burlap and Blooms Wreath from Stampin' Up!

My Mum & Dad have just moved house and I was pondering on a gift I could make for them to brighten the new space and start making the place their own. I surfed Pinterest for some ideas with no luck when all of a sudden I remembered I had purchased the fantastic Burlap and Blooms Wreath Kit from the Spring Summer Catalogue. I knew this would make a perfect New Home gift. So I plugged in my hot glue gun and set about creating the wreath.

Sometimes I just want the simplicity and ease of a kit. I love how everything is ready and waiting to go. All the pieces are there. You just have to assemble and stick. Perfect! So I stuck on the last few weeks Nashville episodes on 4OD and I was away.

I'd say it took about 2 hours or so to complete in total but I loved every step of the process from wrapping the burlap to creating the individual flowers to assembling the finished product.

Here are the full kit details. I love that you get all of this for £15.95. If you purchased a completed project in the shops it would cost considerably more and without the satisfaction of knowing you made it yourself.

Here are some closer pictures of all the different layers and textures that make up the floral elements.

My favourite flowers to create were the fringed wrapped flowers. I am going to have a go at something similar with my Fringe Scissors. That way I can create fringed flowers to match any project with any colour DSP.

I finished my wreath by tying a length of Natural Chevron Ribbon (not included in the kit) around the hanging Burlap loop. I liked the added dimension of the Chevron Ribbon.

All the elements that you see in this picture from the flower components to the buttons to linen thread are all included with the kit. All you need is some strong adhesive (I would recommend a glue gun for ease) to piece together the flowers and adhere to your burlap wrapped wreath.

If you haven't ordered your Burlap and Bloom wreath yet, you only have until June 30th to order one before the kit is retired for good. It is such a fun investment for £15.95.  You can order yours direct through my online store or drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk and I'd be happy to place an order for you.

And don't forget to check out the retiring products lists as well. Click on the picture below to connect through to my online store to see which products will be leaving us at the end of the month (and many are selling out fast!).

Please get in touch with any questions or queries or please pop over to my Online Store for more information on all our products. Get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Good morning and a very happy new crafty week to you all.

I hope you've enjoyed all my posts over the last week. I've been away and scheduled lots of lovely craftiness for you to enjoy in my absence. Hostess Club May Gift: Scissors and Charm

Morning all, I thought I'd share a quick crafty make with you today. This was my hostess club gift included in with the May orders. I'd bought these scissors a while ago and tucked away with a view to giving them as gifts down the line.

I wanted to fancy them up a bit so dug out some shrink plastic to create a scissor charm to tie to the handle. I cut 2" strips of shrink plastic and created tags using the Scallop Tag Topper Punch which I then stamped with Stazon using the Flower Shop stamp set. I used my Heat Tool to shrink the plastic down to these fab little mini tags. I finished with a mobile phone clip and wooden bead and tied to the scissors with Gold Bakers Twine.

I'm really pleased with the result and hope my ladies like them too.

Don't forget the current promotions at the moment using the links below:

Serene Silhouettes Vintage Birthday Card

Good morning. I hope you've explored the fantastic Project Life Customer Sneak Peek over on my online store. This really is a hugely exciting new range of products and I cannot wait to start showing you projects made with all the new loveliness.

But for today I wanted to share this card we made at last month's card class. This was a CASE of a beautiful swap I received from my upline Michelle at Telford. It was simply stunning! I couldn't exactly deconstruct her card (and I also didn't have the beautiful swirly sentiment she used) so I did the best I could with the stamps I had.

I started with a Crumb Cake base and stamped the writing from By The Tide in Crumb Cake ink (it is pale enough that no one will realise the writing is about shells!). I inked the edges of the cardstock with Soft Suede ink and then layered the stamped floral image from Serene Silhouettes over the top (I coloured the stamp with Island Indigo, Pool Party & Old Olive Stampin' Write markers).

I then picked a swirly sentiment from a now retired stamp set for the greeting which was heat embossed with Silver Embossing Powder. We layered the Crumb Cake on to a Pool Party layer and then glued to an Early Espresso base.

And to finish we used our Two Way Glue Pen & Dazzling Diamonds to create glittered edges to our silhouette stamp.

This was such a beautiful swap to receive (and it came with chocolate too! Who doesn't love a chocolatey treat?) and I'm glad I was able to reconstruct it. The colour scheme went down really well at my class.

Don't forget the current promotions at the moment using the links below:

A Celebration of Retiring Products

Good morning and welcome to a new crafty week!

Today I wanted to remind you of some of my favourite cards from the last year made with products on the Stampin' Up! Retiring List. Click here or on the picture below to see the list itself.

I always get sad at this time of year saying goodbye to favourite stamp sets and accessories. But we all know what the Retiring List brings..... a new catalogue just around the corner! I am sure my sadness will be short lived once all my lovely new goodies arrive ( and I have had a Sneak Peek at the new catalogue and it is full of lovely new stamps and accessories and of course, Project Life!)

If you would like a copy of the new catalogue and to celebrate the launch of all the new ranges from Stampin' Up! including Blendabilities and Project Life, my new catalogue Open House will be Saturday June 28th from 10.30am to 3pm. Pop by anytime for a crafty catch up and Make & Take (and of course a free copy of the catalogue to take away!)

So on with my Retiring List trip down memory lane.

This first card uses one of my absolute favourite stamps of recent times (from the current Spring Summer catalogue) Happy Watercolor. While this isn't officially on the Retiring List, it isn't carrying over in to the new Catalogue so is only available until June 30th.

Another fab Happy Watercolor creation design by one of my lovely team members, Hayley, for our team shoebox swap.

Here is one of my favourite hybrid projects using a bit of cross stitching combined with the fabulous Gingham Garden Designer Papers (reduced to the fab price of £5.97) and Washi Tapes (only £3.15) which are retiring at the end of the month.

I loved this little set made with the Fine Feathers stamp set.

Another Gingham Garden creation, this time with the washi tapes as the focus.

And lastly, this was my favourite little Christmas Pud table place setting gift from the Christmas Craft Extravaganza which uses the Lattice Bigz Die.

I really cannot stress enough how quickly items go out of stock from these lists. The easiest way to get your hands on them is to place an online order through my STOREI will also be placing orders regularly throughout the month so if you would like me to add any bits to my orders, just let me know, and then you can collect for free if you are local.
