A pop up Sketched Birthday Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning and welcome to May. And of course a very Happy Birthday to my Dad.

Today's card is not my Dad's actual birthday card (I cannot share that until after he has received it). But in celebration of his birthday I am sharing one of our card class projects from last month. I came across this fantastic pop up card over on Vicky's blog and decided to make my own pop up birthday card.

For the front cover I used Tangerine Tango, Real Red, Daffodil Delight and Pacific Point. I stamped the greeting from the Age Awareness stamp set and added the balloons from the same set.

For the inside I used the measurements shared by Vicky (cut a piece of whisper white card stock 4 1/4" x 2 3/4"  and score at 1", 2", 3" and 4") to create the pop up section. I then stamped images from the soon to be retired Sketched Birthday and cut then to attach to the pop up square.

This is such a simple way to create a fun pop up interactive card. It could be used for any occasion or with any stamp set.

Have you checked out this week's Weekly Deals? Gorgeous buttons, ribbons and binding to be had at great prices just for this week.

Thank you for popping by today. Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up! or our products. I would love to help. All items can be purchased online via my shop or get in touch directly and I can order them for you to be delivered direct to your door. I'd also love to Demo for you and your friends at a crafty party. As the hostess you earn lots of lovely freebies and you all get to make a fun crafty project too (no crafting experience necessary!)

A Celebration of Retiring Products

Good morning and welcome to a new crafty week!

Today I wanted to remind you of some of my favourite cards from the last year made with products on the Stampin' Up! Retiring List. Click here or on the picture below to see the list itself.

I always get sad at this time of year saying goodbye to favourite stamp sets and accessories. But we all know what the Retiring List brings..... a new catalogue just around the corner! I am sure my sadness will be short lived once all my lovely new goodies arrive ( and I have had a Sneak Peek at the new catalogue and it is full of lovely new stamps and accessories and of course, Project Life!)

If you would like a copy of the new catalogue and to celebrate the launch of all the new ranges from Stampin' Up! including Blendabilities and Project Life, my new catalogue Open House will be Saturday June 28th from 10.30am to 3pm. Pop by anytime for a crafty catch up and Make & Take (and of course a free copy of the catalogue to take away!)

So on with my Retiring List trip down memory lane.

This first card uses one of my absolute favourite stamps of recent times (from the current Spring Summer catalogue) Happy Watercolor. While this isn't officially on the Retiring List, it isn't carrying over in to the new Catalogue so is only available until June 30th.

Another fab Happy Watercolor creation design by one of my lovely team members, Hayley, for our team shoebox swap.

Here is one of my favourite hybrid projects using a bit of cross stitching combined with the fabulous Gingham Garden Designer Papers (reduced to the fab price of £5.97) and Washi Tapes (only £3.15) which are retiring at the end of the month.

I loved this little set made with the Fine Feathers stamp set.

Another Gingham Garden creation, this time with the washi tapes as the focus.

And lastly, this was my favourite little Christmas Pud table place setting gift from the Christmas Craft Extravaganza which uses the Lattice Bigz Die.

I really cannot stress enough how quickly items go out of stock from these lists. The easiest way to get your hands on them is to place an online order through my STOREI will also be placing orders regularly throughout the month so if you would like me to add any bits to my orders, just let me know, and then you can collect for free if you are local.

In Love With Stamping Blog Hop- Welcome to the IOW

Good morning and thanks for joining me for my little Isle of Wight part of the In Love With Stamping blog hop. Thanks to Sandra and her creativity in the post before mine.

We are all hopping this morning to celebrate the Stampin' Up! retiring lists being published and to bid a fond farewell to some of our favourite stamp sets, punches, dies and embellishments.

I decided to share this morning two of my favourite projects using two of my favourite retiring stamp sets, Christmas Lodge and Forever Young.

This first project I created for a special Christmas card. It was inspired by this card I had found online. I loved the idea of using a battery tea light to create a luminary card
My favourite element of the Christmas Lodge stamp set is the Merry Christmas sentiment. I love this detailed stamp and the beautiful effect of the embossed gold. And as we all know in the crafting world, it is never too early to start thinking about your Christmas cards so its a perfect stamp set to purchase before it leaves the catalogue at the end of the month.

My second project uses the beautiful More Amore Speciality Paper to create a box card.

I used the tree swing stamp from the Forever Young set to stamp the inside. I love these fancy fold box cards as you can fit a gift card or small chocolates inside so it is a gift and card all in one. I will certainly be sad to see this stamp set retire as its been a feature of many classes and cards I have created over the past couple of years.

Thanks for stopping by this morning. To go back to the beginning of the hop please click on over to Crafty Alison.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or queries about any of the products used today or to place your Last Chance Retiring List order. Don't forget that stocks are limited and only available while stocks last.

Happy crafting ;0)

Time to say Goodbye

I always grow so fond of each years Stampin' Up! catalogue and I'm sad to say goodbye to some of my favourite stamps and products (I'll be saddest to say goodbye to Season of Joy- my most used stamp set of the past 3 years!). My catalogues come to bed with me, I read them in the bath, they get tatty in my handbag and I take them on holiday with me too. So as you can imagine, I grow quite attached to the Ideas Book. So today is the last day for ordering from the 2011- 2012 catalogue and from the Last Chance List. Tomorrow I will be back to share the fantastic (and HUGE) new 2012-2013 catalogue with you.

I have just worked out how to add a Facebook 'Like' feature to my blog. So please click on over to my Stampin' Up! IOW Facebook page which I set up a couple of months ago to promote my classes and events. Click on Like below to ensure you are kept up to date with all things crafty and Stampin' Up!

A quick reminder, I am holding another new catalogue Open House next Saturday from 10.30am-3.30pm (October 6th). Please pop by anytime during the day for a new catalogue and a Make and Take (and a Starbucks coffee of course ;0)

And just before I go for the day, I thought I would have a quick reminisce to some of my favourite Season of Joy projects I have made over the years. I love this set, but as of tomorrow I will have a whole host of new favourites I am sure. Roll on the new catalogue.....

And we cannot forget dear old Dasher. He has been a staple of my Christmas makes for the last two years.

Folded star card

Happy Thursday to all. We're only one day away from the weekend ;0) We're all busy here preparing for a trip to Yorkshire next week for my cousin's wedding. It will be Summer's first little holiday away from the Isle of Wight. We're travelling via the Harry Potter Studio Tour which I am so stupidly excited about you would not believe.

Anyways, enough about life, back to crafting. I have so many projects building up that I have photographed but not posted yet. I really must share these with you before the end of the month to showcase our beautiful retiring items (see this post about the Last Chance List). Todays project is a folded star card we made at my Christmas is August day inspired by this card I found on Pinterest.

This card started with a Crumb Cake 30cm square base. The colour scheme is Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler and Lucky Limeade. We also used the glittered sheets from the Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series Paper to create the glittered exterior. I have loved using this paper for all my Christmas-y projects and will be sad to see this leave (it is currently retiring and featured on the Last Chance List).

This is the centre of the card (the Merry Christmas is from Contempo Christmas). The flowers were made using the Boho Blossom punch and a rhinestone as the centre. The leaves were punched from the Bird Punch.

Please get in touch if you'd like any further information on Stampin' Up! and the Last Chance List. I'd be only too happy to help: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Hello and Goodbye

September is here which can only mean one thing (well actually, two things!)- the Last Chance List is here!!! Click on the picture above to link through to the two Stampin' Up! lists of retiring products. Items are selling out fast so if you see anything on there you want before it retires, let me know asap and I'll add your items to my next Last Chance List order.

Secondly, the first Autumn/Winter seasonal catalogue is here. Click here or on the picture below to connect through to the fantastic new catalogue. For the first time we have a season specific catalogue full of Christmas, Halloween and Harvest themed stamps and accessories. If you'd like to have a look I am holding an Open House on Saturday September 8th. The Open House is running from 10.30am-3.30pm so feel free to stop by anytime to have a look at the new catalogue and take advantage of my on the day ordering incentives and free prize draw.
To celebrate the Last Chance List I thought I would share a surprise box and paper bow we made at my recent all day Christmas event using the Holly Berry Bouquet Designer Series Papers (soon to be retired).
To create this paper bow I followed this tutorial which I found on Pinterest. I love the contrast of the Holly Berry Papers.

This is the surprise box once open.
Please get in touch if you have any questions about any of the current promotions and products from Stampin' Up! Contact me on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Last Chance List Blog Hop

Welcome to my little part of todays Blog Hop. Thank you for joining me from Laura's blog and I hope you've enjoyed all the inspiration so far.

For todays Last Chance List inspired hop I have chosen one of my favourite Stampin' Up! sets, Love You Much (if you click here you will find all my blogged projects using this stamp set previously). When I first discovered Stampin' Up! a couple of years ago this was right at the top of my shopping list and I will be so sad to see it retire come September 30th. Its been perfect for the recent spate of engagements and weddings amongst my friends and I've given this stamp set a fair few outings.

And on that note, that is where I am today. At one of the many weddings of 2011. So fingers crossed technology hasn't failed me and that you can all see this at the right time ;0) I will be home tomorrow and will be completing the hop and commenting on all the participants lovely projects then. Please bear with me.....
For todays project I decided to have a go at making an acetate box. I've seen lots of these made around the blogosphere and always think they look so lovely.  I wanted to use one of my less used colours, Rich Razzleberry and combine this with retiring striped ribbon and DSP (Love Letter).

My card and gift box together:
For the card I used the large Love You Much heart stamped in Rich Razzleberry onto Very Vanilla. I wrapped my Rich Razzleberry card stock layer with a trimmed length of striped ribbon and glued the heart to this. I then embellished with Basic Pearls (I used the smallest ones for the centre of the flowers on the heart and the pearl lengths to line the striped ribbon).
My acetate box is a small 2"x2" square base. Perfect to fit 4 pink heart shaped bath bombs in to make a lovely hostess gift or Valentines pressie. I created the top and bottom of the box using plain Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I then cut lengths of Love Letter DSP which I wrapped around the top and bottom. I embellished this with hearts punched with my Heart to Heart punch. The front embellishment is a Rich Razzleberry scalloped circle layered with the 'Hugs and Kisses' stamp from Love You Much (and basic pearls circling the scallops).
I hope you've enjoyed your stop by my blog today and be sure to continue by hopping onwards to Theresa's blog.
