Hello December Album from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

So this weekend I suddenly realised that December starts this week! Which can only mean one thing- my December album! For those that have followed my blog for a while you'll know I have completed an album every December for the past 6 years. Last years is still half finished as I over complicated things and ran out of steam. So this year I am keeping things very simply - pictures and Hello December cards. That is it!

Well after realising how quickly December was upon me I spent some time yesterday designing and completing my album cover (the first time I have ever completed it in advance!).

For this cover I wanted a magical floaty feel to the stamping. So once I'd positioned all the elements from the Hello December Accessory Pack (including the gorgeous foiled 2016 acetate element) I added my Christmas Magic snowman in Crumb Cake Ink and then added snowflakes, stars and hearts flying above him. To give a little sparkly I added Clear Wink of Stella over all the stamped elements.

And to give you an idea of just how simple my project is going to be this year, here are all my supplies - Hello December Cards and Accessory Pack. I have a small shopping bag which contains a tombow glue, sticky tape, glue dots and a couple of festive stamp sets to go with this. But this is it! I will not spend 3 hours a day on one page this year. I want simply and lovely pages celebrating the season.

And best of all, if you want to join in and purchase your Hello December supplies, they are currently 30% off until the end of today as part of the Online Extravaganza! But all Online Extravaganza prices are only available until tonight. So get your order in quick. And if you use the hostess code for this month I will be able to send you an extra special gift next month to say thank you: 26JB7T6H.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up! and their products. I would be happy to help. All items can be purchased online via my shop or get in touch directly and I can order them for you to be delivered direct to your door. I'd also love an opportunity to Demo for you and your friends at a crafty party.  As the hostess you earns exclusive free products and all guests get to create a fun crafty project to take home too! Get in touch if you'd like any further information.

A Berry Merry Christmas from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning crafters. I am super excited that we are only 4 days from the launch of the new Stampin'  Up! Autumn Winter catalogue. So many ideas and lovely stamps and accessories contained within its pages.

I have another little sneak peek for you today. This card was inspired by one I saw on the live stream of the US Stampin' Up! convention. It uses a new stamp set called Berry Merry which contains two larger fancy sentiments and then lots of little elements (fir cones, bows, holly, berries, leaves and flowers) to embellish your design.

It is such a versatile and fun stamp to create with. This is another one of my 'love of stamping' sets. These are stamp sets that I love to make with purely for the enjoyment of stamping and having fun with the process.

,

I matched the Berry Merry stamp set with the matching Boughs and Berries Textured Impressions Embossing Folder (available together as a great value bundle costing £18.50).

To create this card I heat embossed the Joy with gold embossing powder then created elements with Garden Green and Cherry Cobbler inks. I layered Whisper White over Champagne Glimmer Paper and attached to a Cherry Cobbler card base.

Thank you for popping by today. I will be back next week with lots more festive fun to celebrate the launch of the new Autumn. Winter catalogue. Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up! or our products. I would love to help. All items can be purchased online via my shop or get in touch directly and I can order them for you to be delivered direct to your door. I'd also love to Demo for you and your friends at a crafty party. As the hostess you earn lots of lovely freebies and you all get to make a fun crafty project too (no crafting experience necessary!)

Cardmaking and Craft Classes on the Isle of Wight: Scallop Tag Punch Gift Box

Hello all! Hope you've had a creative and sunshine filled weekend. Saturday was my monthly card class here in Newport on the Isle of Wight. We had a lovely class full of chat and cheeriness and creativity.

If you'd like to find out more about my upcoming classes check out my sidebar or the class tab at the top.
My upcoming classes will be held at my home in Newport on:
  • Saturday July 19th 1-4pm
  • Saturday August 23rd 1-4pm

Classes cost £8.00 for 3 cards and a 3D item (gift box or gift bag)

I also have two special events coming up in August. My annual Christmas Crafting Days will be held on:
  • Friday August 8th 10am-4pm
  • Saturday August 16th 10am-4pm

This is a special event I hold every year to get you in the festive spirit ready for the festive crafting season (which we all know starts in the summer!). We make a wide range of projects. In previous years we have made a Christmas planner, stamped tealights and a matching votive holder, a papercrafted Christmas tree for a table centrepiece, a mini album and a huge variety of cards and gift bags. The day costs £20 which includes the kits to make all projects. I ask all attendees to bring along their own selection of glue and a packed lunch too.

Get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 to book your place or to find out more.

Today's crafty make was a box we made at the class on Saturday. I found this tutorial online for creating the basic design of the box which uses the FAB Scallop Tag Topper Punch as a closure for the gift box.

Once the basic box was cut and scored from Daffodil Delight cardstock we decorated with the soon to retire 2012-2014 In Color Cardstock (Midnight Muse and Gumball Green)  layered with the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. I love this paper and will be so sad to see it retire (but equally as excited about all the new lovely paper collections to arrive in the new catalogue).

To finish we created these little floral features using a fab sneak peek product from the new annual catalogue, the Itty Bitty Punch Accents punch pack. We embellished with Brights Candy Dots.

Check out all the products that are retiring by clicking the image below. All the retiring products are only available for another week. June 30th is your last opportunity to purchase these before the arrival of the new catalogue on July 1st.

Please get in touch with any questions or queries or please pop over to my Online Store for more information on all our products. Get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Hopeful Thoughts meets Melon Mambo Heat Embossing

Hooray for the weekend!! It is Friday and it'll hopefully be a lovely BBQ and sunshine filled weekend (but I won't hold my breath just in case!).

Today's crafty share is another of my May Card Class projects (if you'd like to find out more about joining one of my classes please see my 'Classes and Events' tab above). I'd seen another card with Melon Mambo (sadly now sold out off the Retiring List but there are other colours still available as well as beautiful new colours soon to be available in the new catalogue) embossing powder against black and I was amazed at the lovely (and bold) effect of it.

I've embossed on black before with poorer quality powders and never had such a defined and bright result. Stampin' Up! embossing powders really are some of the best I have worked with. I used the Hopeful Thoughts stamp set to create the branch background and then created the Butterfly with Papillon Potpourri (I stamped the image on to vellum, embossed and then punched with the Elegant Butterfly Punch). The greeting was stamped using the Label Love stamp set and punched with the Artisan Label Punch.

Button Bird Birthday Card with Stampin' Up! Designer Buttons

Good morning and a Happy Tuesday to you.

As you can see I am continuing my button crafting theme. This card was inspired by this card I found on Pinterest. I loved the whimsical little birds and knew they would work perfectly with the gorgeous Stampin' Up! Brights Designer Buttons. These are the best quality buttons I've ever used in papercrafting (well worth the money!) and I love that they perfectly match the Stampin' Up! inks and cardstock.

To create this card I simply punched 3 different sizes circles from a Daffodil Delight layer and then positioned my buttons. Using my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker I then drew in the whimsical details of the little birds.

Be sure to check out the newly updated Clearance Rack by clicking the picture below. There are lots of newly added (and hugely reduced!) products at fantastic prices. But they are selling out fast so be sure to get your order in sooner rather than later.

Virtual Club Welcome Gifts

Happy Friday! Only a few hours till the weekend begins. I am celebrating the arrival of the weekend with a Stampin' Up! party this evening. I've been on a bit of a party break with Sylvie's arrival. So I am hugely looking forward to a bit of crafting and catching up with some of my customers.

Today's crafty make uses the Stampin' Up! Chevron Tag a Bag Gift Bags. I wanted to make a welcome gift for my new virtual club members and had seen Monica's project using these bags and thought they would be perfect filled with some welcome goodies (Designer Series Paper, Crumb Cake Envelopes and Dimensionals).

I changed the colour scheme for the welcome tag. This uses Designer Series Paper from the Quatrefancy Speciality Papers matched with pennants cut in Silver Glimmer Paper and Island Indigo Cardstock using the Banner Frameliets Dies. I matched these layers with Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon and the 'Welcome' stamped in Island Indigo using the Occasions Alphabet stamp set and punched with the Ticket Duo punch. I finished with a coat hanger clip from the Hung Up Cute Clips set.

Thank you for popping by today and I hope you have a lovely weekend planned. If you would like to find out more about any of the products used or joining one of my Virtual Hostess Clubs please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

By the Tide Birthday Bookmark

Good morning Stampers.

I hope you are enjoying the long weekend. What have you been up to this fine May Day? I squeezed in a little craftiness on Saturday making my Hostess Club welcome gifts. I will share those with you later in the week. But now my mini flurry of birthdays in briefly paused (to be resumed next weekend) I can share the second of the birthday cards I made for my Dad.

If you remember this project I made last year for Mother's Day (altered gift cards) well then you might recognise one of the elements of this birthday card. Mum wanted to create a bookmark as part of the card for my Dad. His books are often littered with old train tickets and receipts that he uses as page markers. So as this old gift card was about the same size Mum wanted to create a fishy themed glazed bookmark and then use it as a focal point for a card.

I covered the gift card in Modern Medley Designer Series Paper and inked the edges with my daubers and Soft Suede ink. I then stamped the seaweed image from By The Tide across the newsprint. I also stamped the fish from the same set twice in Black Stazon on to a scrap piece of Very Vanilla. I sponge daubered Garden Green ink over the fish images (and then inked Gold Encore ink over the top to give the fish a Ghost Koi feel). The seashell is from the By The Seashore stampset.

To finish the card I used a Tempting Turquoise base with Island Indigo and Soft Suede layers.  For the inked main layer I used Naturals White Cardstock (slightly textured like sand) and stamped the seaweed again and then used a stamping sponge to spread Pool Party ink over the background. I then ripped two pieces of cardstock (Crumb Cake and Soft Suede) to give the sandy feel to the base of the image. I then used a length of Linen Thread and a Neutrals Button to finish the embellishment.

The base of the card was inspired by this creation I found on Pinterest. I thought it made a perfect base to highlight the fishy bookmark (which i glazed with Mod Podge to make it last longer).

Thank you for popping by today. You can order all Stampin' Up! products through my online store by click here or by clicking on any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Zenspired Birthday Greetings

Good morning and a very Happy Birthday to my littlest sister today. I promised yesterday I would be sharing something a little different today and here it is.

While surfing Pinterest I came across Joanne Fink and her Zenspirations books. I have always loved doodling, sparkle and colouring in. And creating Zenspiration drawings gives me an opportunity to combine all of the above with my love for Stampin' Up!

This is only be second attempt at a Zenspiration style monogram and I thought it would make a perfect birthday card for Sophie. I looked up a few different styles of monogram. My favourite style is the dangle designs where you create hanging hearts so I incorporated a little of this in to my 'S'. Once I'd pencilled my design I went over with my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and then coloured my design with my Brights Stampin' Writes. The stamp is one I found in my stash (sadly not Stampin' Up!).

I was attempting to use my sisters gift as the inspiration for the design. I wanted nice bright colours to reflect the striped of her birthday gift- these lovely bright summer sandals for our summer holiday.

Below is a close up of the stripes I drew in to the design for her 'S' birthday card. You can see how I had a few issues with adding the glitter. I wanted to add a little sparkle so I used my Dazzling Details to colour over sections of the 'S'. But unfortunately it bubbled the paper and made the coloured ink do funny things too. I still think it looks lovely though. I just won't do it again! I loved adding the Basic Rhinestones to the lines to add a little glitz and bling.

So while this isn't a traditional Stampin' Up! stamped card I have used my lovely Brights Collection card stock (Pumpkin Pie, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo) and Stampin' Write Markers to create this doodled design. I am a little bit addicted to these drawings at the moment and have been using every spare minute between baby feeds and child entertaining to have a go at these doodles.

Thank you for popping by today. You can order all Stampin' Up! products through my online store by click here or by clicking on any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Hardwood Garden Gate Card

Good morning and a very Happy Hump Day! I love Wednesdays as it means you are nearly at the weekend (and Grimm is on too which is always something worth looking forward to!).

Great news! Weekly Deals have been extended through May. Today's deals feature some great products. I especially love the Pop n' Cuts inserts (to be used with the Pop N' Cuts base). Pop over to my online store by clicking here or on the picture below to check this weeks deals.

So on to today's crafty project. I wanted to make a special 'Showstopper' special card for my first card class back after my maternity leave. I had seen a similar creation on Pinterest designed to showcase a packet of garden seeds as a gift style card. This type of card is one of my absolute favourites, one that incorporates a gift as an integral part of the card. And this card also gave me an excuse to break out the Bird Punch again. I haven't used this punch in an absolute age.

Here is the inside of the card:

The colour scheme for this card is Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Naturals Ivory (for the garden gate). The gate is stamped using the Hardwood background stamp in Chocolate Chip (and edges daubered with Crumb Cake). I secured the gate with Sticky Strip and then stuck Candy Dots to represent the gate hinges.

To embellish I created a robin with the Bird Punch. I punched the body from Crumb Cake, wing from Chocolate Chip and the breast was daubered with Cherry Cobbler. The flower was punched with the Boho Blossoms punch (and finished with a Bright Candy Dot).

Thank you for popping by today. You can order all Stampin' Up! products through my online store by click here or by clicking on any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Team Shoebox Swap Makes

Happy Monday Crafty friends. Hoping you all had a lovely weekend. Shame about the weather. We had lots of rain here on the island. But as we were all tucked up inside (with cake and a cuppa) for my card class on Saturday the rain didn't worry us. We had a lovely afternoon with new and old friends alike. I'll be sharing some of our projects later in the week, including a tutorial for a fab little floral gift box.

Today's crafty project share are the three cards my team ladies made for our shoebox swap last week. Unfortunately I had to ask my ladies to make mine for me as I had a very clingy Summer wanting my attention for most of the evening (she flaked out within minutes of the ladies leaving!).

The first of our projects was Hayley's fab make which uses the emboss resist technique. I absolutely love the sentiment taken from Perfect Pennants (a stamp set I seem to have overlooked from the catalogue. I can feel a sneaky order coming on....)

The next card was designed by Lorraine and I somehow managed to stamp it all wonky! Which goes to show even the most seasoned of stampers have wobbly stamping days too. The green gingham is stamped using the Gingham Standard Wheel. Creating this card reminded me how much I enjoy using the wheels. I really must dig through my wheel collection again. The flower is stamped using Flower Shop and punched using the matching Pansy Punch. And the lovely (wonky) sentiment is from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set.

And last, but not least, is Sandy's lovely creation using Papillon Potpourri and the matching small and large butterfly punches. The embossing was created using the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folders

Thank you for popping by today. You can order all Stampin' Up! products through my online store by click here or by clicking on any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Good Friday Easter Punch Art Treats

Just a quick and easy Good Friday Easter share with you today. I made these simple punch art Easter Treats as a little extra gift for Summer to go with the Easter Basket I previously made her.

I had seen similar projects made on Pinterest but came across this lovely blog by a US Demonstrator, Jill Franchett. I loved her little punch art creations so set about making my own little treat holders.

The base is a piece of Daffodil Delight measuring 4cm x 14.5cm. I scored it along the long side at 6cm and 8.5cm and punched each end using my Scallop Tag Topper Punch (which I closed with a short length of Daffodil Delight Ribbon). I then mounted my two punch art creations to the front (and also secured some Easter chocolate treats to the inside. I glued two small wrapped choccie rabbitswith a glue dot).

Both punch art animals were created with my 1 3/4" Scallop Circle Punch (Daffodil Delight and Whisper White Cardstock). For the sheep I punched a flower using a retired floral punch (which I didn't realise was retired till I just tried to find it to link here!! DOH!!!!). For the chick I cut a small square from Tangerine Tango and folded in half for the beak (does not need to be perfect). I used my Small Heart Punch for the wings and feet. And I used the 1/2" Circle for the white part of the eyes and the small circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack for the Basic Black eye centres. Both characters were finished with a small Daffodil Delight bow made from Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

Wishing you all a very lovely long Easter weekend. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for beautiful weather for barbecues and car boot sales. And here is to hoping we all get a bit of crafting time too. If you have any crafty questions or need any further information about Stampin' Up! please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll be happy to help.

In Color Treat Bag

Morning crafty lovely crafty friends. I hope this Friday post finds you well and looking forward to the weekend. Its a beautiful bright day here on the Isle of Wight and I am looking forward to taking the girls to the park later to have a bit of a kick-a-bout.

Today's crafty share was inspired by this project I found on Pinterest by Jane at the Petite Fleur Paperie. I found in my stash a pack of these Tag a Bag Chevron Gift Bags (what a bargain at £3.75 for a pack of 10 - 131370) and thought Jane's project was a beautiful project to CASE to display how lovely these bags are.

I made this little treat bag (filled with choccie coins) for my Mum as an Easter gift. To create the decoration I used my Scallop Edge Border Punch to punch the edging of the folded over section of the bag (a quick tip is to layer your bag with a sheet of scrap cardstock to stop the thinner paper from tearing when punching).  The pennant was created using a base of Crisp Cantaloupe  layered with a stamped Vellum matching pennant (I stamped the flower from the Flower Shop stamp set using Crisp Cantaloupe ink). The top pennant is cut from sheet of Pistachio Pudding DSP from the In Color 2013-2015 DSP Stack.

I sealed the bag with a length of Pistachio Pudding 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim and then folded a Tea Lace Paper Doily over the top and layered the greeting stamped from Teeny Tiny Wishes and two flowers stamped and punched using the Flower Shop bundle (stamp set and punch). I used an In Color Boutique Detail to finish.

I absolutely love these little bags now and might be using them for a lot of upcoming gifts and treats for my Hostess Club members. I love how effective they look with a simple bit of embellishment.
