Hardwood Garden Gate Card

Good morning and a very Happy Hump Day! I love Wednesdays as it means you are nearly at the weekend (and Grimm is on too which is always something worth looking forward to!).

Great news! Weekly Deals have been extended through May. Today's deals feature some great products. I especially love the Pop n' Cuts inserts (to be used with the Pop N' Cuts base). Pop over to my online store by clicking here or on the picture below to check this weeks deals.

So on to today's crafty project. I wanted to make a special 'Showstopper' special card for my first card class back after my maternity leave. I had seen a similar creation on Pinterest designed to showcase a packet of garden seeds as a gift style card. This type of card is one of my absolute favourites, one that incorporates a gift as an integral part of the card. And this card also gave me an excuse to break out the Bird Punch again. I haven't used this punch in an absolute age.

Here is the inside of the card:

The colour scheme for this card is Pear Pizzazz, Pool Party and Naturals Ivory (for the garden gate). The gate is stamped using the Hardwood background stamp in Chocolate Chip (and edges daubered with Crumb Cake). I secured the gate with Sticky Strip and then stuck Candy Dots to represent the gate hinges.

To embellish I created a robin with the Bird Punch. I punched the body from Crumb Cake, wing from Chocolate Chip and the breast was daubered with Cherry Cobbler. The flower was punched with the Boho Blossoms punch (and finished with a Bright Candy Dot).

Thank you for popping by today. You can order all Stampin' Up! products through my online store by click here or by clicking on any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Christmas Candle

I have been so busy of late that I'm really beginning to feel craft deprived. I havent had a second to sit and do any original crafting. I did however make a version of a card I saw on Monica's blog. She is such a creative demonstrator and the moment I spotted it I knew I wanted to give it a go. I loved the finished product so much that I'll be sharing this card with my class on the 28th September. So if you fancy having a go yourself, book your spot now (poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249).

This uses the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder for the Big Shot to texture the candle and background. The colour scheme is Rich Razzleberry and Old Olive. The leaves and flame are punched with the bird punch. The flowers are one of the Boho Blossom three. And the tags are stamped with Tiny Tags and punched with the jewellery tag punch. I finished the card with three of the large basic pearls.

As you can see my thoughts are well and truly turning to Christmas crafting now. I have had a bit of a sneak peak of the new catalogue and I cannot wait to get new products for my Christmas makings ;0) And don't forget that the Last Chance List is now live and products are only available while stocks last. I'm putting an order in over the weekend so get in touch if there is anything you would like me to order.

Happy Weekend Crafting ;0)

A quick thank you

My apologies for the long blogging absence. I've had new beginnings and big changes here which has meant no time for crafting or blogging. Hopefully things will settle down and I'll get some crafting time over the weekend.

I have however got one quick project to share with you. I had a few customer orders to deliver this week so I put together this quick and simple Thank You note using my Just Believe stamp set (and Curly Cute sentiment). I inked the flower stamp with Pear Pizzazz then coloured over bits randomly with Old Olive to give a bit of dimension. To create the flowers I punched Rose Red cardstock and Blushing Bride Designer Series Papers with my Boho Blossoms punch. I layered the two smaller flowers with a Basic Pearl. The sentiment is stamped with Rich Razzleberry.

Please note that this was my first attempt card and I stamped the sentiment a bit wobbly. But I'd sent the other cards out before i took pictures of the non wonky efforts ;0)

I hope you are all having a lovely summer (summer? A loose term considering the weather). Happy summer crafting to you all ;0)

Bright Sweet Card

I struggled coming up with a title for this post. I wasnt quite sure how to explain the design of this card. It is cut from one sheet of A4 and the box folds back in on itself to create a treat box with window as a part of the card itself. Its a cute little design for a childs birthday card and a great way of adding a little bit extra to a card. Although a little tip, the box part does NOT fit a Ferrero Rocher. I tried to fit one in and it just would not go. Which goes to prove my sense of perspective is terrible. The Bendicks chocolate mints fit perfectly ;0)

I created this card using a Daffodil Delight base and decorated with Poppy Parade and Concord Crush Designer Series Paper.
Uses:
Stamp set: Party This Way
C/S: Daffodil Delight
DSP: Concord Crush & Poppy Parade
Ribbon: Daffodil Delight
Punches: Boho Blossom, Oval, Scallop Oval, Tag, Word Window
Embellishments: Basic Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Thanks for stopping by today. Nearly the weekend *hooray* Come back tomorrow for a gorgeous Cottage Garden Birthday card ;0)

Packing for the Retreat

Right, I've finally got 5 mins to sit down with The Hairy Bikers (LOVE their cooking!), a cuppa and my blog. I've had one seriously hectic night trying to pack for the WCC Retreat this weekend as well as sorting and delivering all my latest Sale-A-Bration customer orders. Since finishing work I've spent time with my lovely downline Sandy, my fab customer Chris and my great new friend Hayley also popped round to pick up some SU bits she ordered. I have that satisfied feeling of getting a lot done in a short space of rime (I even managed a Somerfield run to pick up some Heroes as I was having a serious chocolate craving). Although my packing isnt going quite as well as I had hoped. The pic below shows the stash I've sorted so far. Quite restrained for me. But i'm not finished yet (what you can see is an order for my crafty pal Paige, a tote of punches, my 12 x 12 paper carrier and my 'bits and bobs' tote, oh and my phone charger too). I havent even started with embellishments and stampsets...... Hope my Mum has packed light as I'll need most of the car to fit it all in...

The cards above are my customer thank yous for SAB orders. I borrowed the thank you stamp from my Mum's starter kit order. I stamped it in Peach Parfait centrally on a small 3 x 3 notecard. I then embellished with flowers punched with the Boho Blossoms punch (In Colour DSP) and a rhinestone to finish. A quick and simple (yet striking) card to show my appreciation for all my customers who have ordered this month so far ;0)

Right, I'm off to finish the embellishment sorting..... I'll be back Sunday to show off all my Retreat makes. I have a whole stack of photos awaiting some creativity ;0)

Happy Crafting ;0)
