You Are Invited.....

Evening all ;0)

Let me start by cordially inviting you to join me on Saturday July 6th for my new catalogue celebration Open House from 10.30 to 3pm at my home in Newport.

I will have lots of on the day incentives and prizes to include:
  • A free catalogue for all attendees
  • Free P&P for all orders collected from me
  • Incentive gift for anyone booking a workshop
  • A handmade welcome gift for joining my new catalogue Hostess Club
  • An extra special gift if you join my Stampin' Up! team on the day
  • Entry in to a Stampin' Up! door prize for everyone placing an order on the day (two fantastic new products from the new catalogue)
And just to give you a little sneak peak of some of the fantastic new products available come July 2nd here is a little gift box I recently made for an upcoming party door prize. This uses some beautiful new papers, Gingham Garden, along with Gingham Washi Tape and a fab new Label Punch too (with matching sentiment stamp set).
This is such a simple and striking mini bag. I love the inside folds which both give it stability and an interesting feature too. To create this box yourself, I found this tutorial online which I followed and then decorated to suit.
Thanks for popping by today. Please get in touch to find out more about my Open House and please feel free to pop along. Everyone is welcome and feel free to bring a friend also.

Try It Tuesday: New Home Moving Card

Hello and welcome to Tuesday's little bit of Isle of Wight craftiness. A good crafty friend of mine, Hayley, of Happiness is Homemade, is moving back to the big island this week (Southampton to be precise). I met her for lunch today with another friend of ours, strictly not to say goodbye but instead to have a quick catch up before the move and a 'see you soon'.

As you'll see from her blog, she makes beautiful cards and crafty bits and bobs, so I knew I needed to make her a fabulous good luck on the move card. I'd saved this card to my Stampin' Up! ideas Pinterest board months and months ago. While searching for a bit of inspiration I came across it and thought it would lend itself beautifully to these gorgeous new papers from the new 2013-2014 catalogue, Gingham Garden Designer Series Paper. So I set about giving it my own crafty twist.

To anyone who reads my blog regularly or who knows me, you'll realise I'm not really one for imprecise crafting. The most extreme of my crafting is to tear a bit of cardstock or distress the edges of my scrapbook page. I am not one for this sort of style. But I absolutely loved giving this a go. So maybe there is an art journaller/collage maker inside trying to get out after all.

In fact, this card is one of my favourite cards I've ever made. I loved adding the personal details in the doodles such as the family names and well wishes. I find opening a new pack of pretty papers so inspiring and these sneak peak papers just gave me a kick of crafty mojo.

Here are close ups of some of the details on the card:

To create this card I used a full sheet of Crumb Cake A4 cardstock folded in half for the card base. I then cut the background to size and cut the hill from the green patterned papers. I then cut a rectangle for the house and a matching triangle for the roof and then pieced together the rest of the paper elements. I used my Stampin' Write Journaller as I went to add the doodling detail.

This card uses:

Cardstock: Crumb Cake

Papers: Regals Patterned Paper Stack & Gingham Garden
Punches: Word Window (Fence), Small Heart, 2-3/8" Scallop Circle (Sun)
Embellishments: Large Heart from Artisan Embellishments Kit & Subtles Designer Buttons
Big Shot Die: Peekaboo Frames (for the window)

Please get in touch if you have any questions about this card or the products I have used to create it. If you'd like to place an order to create your own version of this, I would be more than happy to help. You can contact me on 01983 609249 or 07830 343830, or by email: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk.

Thursday craftiness

Good evening all. What a lovely day its been. I thought this weekend was meant to be a washout but our Isle of Wight weather has been beautiful today. Sam and I were meant to be camping but his leg is still on the mend so we're limited in what we can get up to. So instead I made the most of my days holiday by taking Summer swimming (she is a real water baby) and then doing a bit of gardening with Mum (we're at the worse before it gets better stage at the moment!).

Anyways, back to the important crafty business for the day. I have a couple of projects to share today from my May Cardmaking Class. Not sure how I missed sharing these cards previously.

The first uses a lovely technique of heat embossing the image using white embossing powder on to vellum and them sponging colour on to the reverse of the vellum. It gives you a lovely subtle colour on the front. The stamp set used for this card is Everything Eleanor. The colour combination is Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze and Pool Party.
Here is another of the projects we made. A fancy fold envelope card made from a sheet of 12x12 (you'll have to forgive me as I cannot find the original tutorial I used. I will have a look later to try and add info here for you).
I used the Regals Designer Series Paper stack to create this card. I thought it had a lovely masculine feel to it that perfectly matched The Open Sea stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget only 10 days left to take advantage of the Retiring Lists. I am placing orders regularly through the month and many items are already sold out. Please check the lists out here and I will be more than happy to add your items to an order for you.

Please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Best of Flowers Shoebox Make

Happy Tuesday to you ;0) And thanks for popping by today.

Today I am sharing a project inspired by this card I'd seen on a talented Demonstrator, Julie's blog. This clear block stamping technique is all the rage since it was demonstrated on stage at our recent Regional Event in Telford. I love the subtle blending of the Lucky Limeade and the Daffodil Delight. If you'd like to learn more about the technique see my earlier post here.

This was my card at my monthly team shoebox swap. We all get together to chat about Stampin' Up! and craft together. Its lovely to share Stampin' Up! with other like minded crafters. I'd love for you to join us. If you'd like to find out more, please get in touch or see the 'Join My Team' tab at the top.

The stamp used is from the exclusive Best of Flowers stamp set, available for a limited time to celebrate Stampin' Up!'s 25th anniversary. I stamped using a brand new colour, Burnt Brown Sugar, on Crumb Cake cardstock to create the tone on tone background. I then stamped the same image in Basic Black onto my blended background. I finished with Stitched Daffodil Delight ribbon.

For more info on the Best of Flowers click on the picture below.

If you'd like to order this exclusive stamp set or take advantage of the remaining days of the Retiring Lists please get in touch and I will be happy to help you place an order delivered direct to you door (poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249).

Thanks for stopping by Stampin' Sarah today. Things are still a bit crazy here as my poor other half is still suffering with his leg elevated due to an injury last week. And I'm busy pottering and collecting bits and pieces for the camper van. Just need Sam on the mend so we can get out on adventures again. Cannot wait to pack up some crafting supplies and take my cardmaking and scrapbooking on the road.

Happy Father's Day

I thought I would share the card I made to celebrate Father's Day today. I'm off to spend the afternoon with my Dad at the Isle of Wight Festival watching The Script and Bon Jovi (hoping the sun makes an appearance at some point, or at least that it stops raining for the headliners!).

The card I made for my Dad uses some special sneak peak papers to be seen in a new catalogue near you very soon (the fab New York inspired Soho Subway Designer Series Papers). The stamp set I used to create the fish is By The Tide and I embellished with the fab This and That Washi Tape, linen thread and a retired button.

Wishing you all a lovely & crafty Sunday and thanks for popping by today. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.

Try It Tuesday: Sunshine and Sprinkles

Well what a day! We've just got home from a trip to A&E with Sam. He hurt his leg leaving work and is now on crutches for a couple of weeks. How typical is that with all the exciting camping adventuring we had planned for the next couple of weeks.

So to unwind from a crazy day I am posting a scrapbook page I created for my May scrapbook class. I have seen these paper sunshine designs all over scrapbooks and card blogs for a few months now and couldn't believe how simple it was to create. I had over thought the process in my head. Who knew it was as simple as drawing the sunshine shape on to scrap card (starting with the straight line for the horizon) and using that as a template on fancy patterned papers to create this bright sunrise using the fab Stampin' Up! Sunshine and Sprinkles Designer Series Papers.

I love these vibrant bright designs and will be sad to see them leave the catalogue (although I have seen a sneaky peak of some new items and papers and I am sure there will be new favourites just around the corner ;0)

We also used the Every Little Bit stamp set to create the corner detail and the builder brads with a small circle punched from the coordinating paper designs.

And on the subject of the new catalogue, I will be hosting an Open House event on Saturday July 6th between 10.30am and 3pm. Pop along to get hold of your copy of the new Stampin' Up! catalogue and try some of the lovely new products.

I will have free Make and Takes available throughout the day along with tea/coffee so please feel free to drop by and have a chat and craft.

On the day I will be offering:
  • A free catalogue
  • Free P&P for all orders
  • Incentive gifts for anyone booking a workshop
  • A chance to win a Stampin' Up! door prize

The events will be held at my home in Newport, please contact me for further information or to let me know you will be attending: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or

In Love With Stamping Blog Hop- Welcome to the IOW

Good morning and thanks for joining me for my little Isle of Wight part of the In Love With Stamping blog hop. Thanks to Sandra and her creativity in the post before mine.

We are all hopping this morning to celebrate the Stampin' Up! retiring lists being published and to bid a fond farewell to some of our favourite stamp sets, punches, dies and embellishments.

I decided to share this morning two of my favourite projects using two of my favourite retiring stamp sets, Christmas Lodge and Forever Young.

This first project I created for a special Christmas card. It was inspired by this card I had found online. I loved the idea of using a battery tea light to create a luminary card
My favourite element of the Christmas Lodge stamp set is the Merry Christmas sentiment. I love this detailed stamp and the beautiful effect of the embossed gold. And as we all know in the crafting world, it is never too early to start thinking about your Christmas cards so its a perfect stamp set to purchase before it leaves the catalogue at the end of the month.

My second project uses the beautiful More Amore Speciality Paper to create a box card.

I used the tree swing stamp from the Forever Young set to stamp the inside. I love these fancy fold box cards as you can fit a gift card or small chocolates inside so it is a gift and card all in one. I will certainly be sad to see this stamp set retire as its been a feature of many classes and cards I have created over the past couple of years.

Thanks for stopping by this morning. To go back to the beginning of the hop please click on over to Crafty Alison.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or queries about any of the products used today or to place your Last Chance Retiring List order. Don't forget that stocks are limited and only available while stocks last.

Happy crafting ;0)
