Wetlands Birthday Greetings

Good morning all. Hooray for Friday (my favourite day of the week!). Have you got exciting plans for the weekend? I am looking forward to my monthly card class tomorrow. I've had a bit of a 'new baby break' and this is my first class post-Sylvie. Really looking forward to seeing all my crafty ladies again. I've got some lovely projects lined up for us all to make that I will be sharing with you all next week.

Today's crafty make is a project I cased from Dawn Griffiths for my Island Inkers team get together this week. I needed a quick and simple make that was easy to prep as I didn't have a great deal of time to get things ready (unfortunately kiddies don't sleep on demand!).

I love the simplicity of this card. Masking is one of my favourite stamping techniques. I find stamping on to a Post-It and creating my mask relaxing. And I love the effect of stamping over the mask to create a layered image with multiple stamps. Masking allows you to use multiple stamps/stamp sets to create lovely multi-coloured and multi-layered images.

The colour scheme for this card is Basic Black, Smoky Slate and Very Vanilla (with a touch of Old Olive for the stamped grass). The image and sentiment are from the Wetlands stamp set. The background is one of my new favourite stamps, Hardwood. The button is from the Neutrals Designer Buttons collection and I used a length of Linen Thread to tie the bow.

Have you noticed the crafty blooper? I accidentally coloured the goose legs green while I was using my Stampin' Write markers to colour the stamp. I had to colour over the legs once stamped with Basic Black (hence the slightly darker colour tone).

And just a quick reminder to check out this week's Weekly Deals. I still have my eye on the Stampin' Write markers New Colour Kit. What a bargain! Click on the picture below to see what other items are reduced for a limited time only (you only have till Tuesday to take advantage of this FAB deal).

You can order all Stampin' Up! products through my online store by click here or by clicking on any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Zoo Babies Birthday Train Card

Good morning crafty friends. How was your Easter weekend? I hope you had a lovely one. Here on the Isle of Wight we had lovely weather for half the weekend so we were able to get out and about and enjoy an Easter Egg Hunt (as well as the odd ice cream too!). We even managed to get ourselves a new family friendly people carrier which will be perfect for our trip to Telford next month for Stampin' Up!'s Regional Training (and thankfully I am just a spectator this year and not a presenter so no terrible nerves for me this year *hooray*).

So today's crafty creation is a first birthday card I made for my lovely friend's little boy using the gorgeous Zoo Babies stamp set. I have seen lots of these little toy train card across the internet and blogs and just love the cute effect of using the Curly Label punch cut in half to create these little train carriages.

My colour scheme was taken from the Retro Fresh Designer Series Papers that I used for the background layer: So Saffron, Coastal Cabana, Very Vanilla, Soft Sky and Soft Suede.

I stamped 'Theo' using my Simply Serif Mini Alphabet stamps and used the circle from the Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack to punch the individual letters. I mounted these on to the bunting punched using the Pennant Punch (soon to be seen reappearing in the new 2014-2015 catalogue) and used a Dimensional to raise this from the main card.

The train was created using the Curly Label Punch cut in half and embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder. The wheels were made using the 1/2" Circle and 3/4" Circle Punches and finished with a Candy Dot.

The sentiment was stamped using the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.

You can order any products through my online store by clicking here or by clicking any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Happy Watercolor Happy Mother's Day Card

Hello crafters. What a rainy day here on the Isle of Wight. A perfect day for sticking on a film and tucking myself away in my craft room for a couple of hours. Once this is posted I might take advantage of the babies being asleep for a little while and see what I can create.

Today's share is the Mother's Day card I made for my Mum. It was inspired by this card I had seen on Pinterest. I decided to give it my own twist and use the tools and stamps I had within my crafty cupboards. I chose my colour scheme as a starting point: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Strawberry Slush & Blushing Bride.

I stamped the background with the En Francais background stamp in Crumb Cake ink. The corner 'splodges' are from the Happy Watercolor stamp set. The small hearts are stamped in Strawberry Slush,  Blushing Bride & Crumb Cake using the multiple heart stamp from the Language of Love set and then punched with the Small Heart Punch.

The final detail on the card are the main hearts which were punched using the Full Heart Punch from Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. I inked the edges of each heart with Crumb Cake ink and then stamped each heart with the floral orchid stamp from the Happy Watercolor stamp set. I then repeat stamped this image on to Very Vanilla and coloured the flower heads with Blushing Bride and Strawberry Slush using a Blender Pen. Then using my lovely sharp Paper Snips I cut around the coloured flower heads and glued these on to my punched full hearts.  To finish I covered the coloured flower heads with Crystal Effects and left to dry to give a lovely textured sheen to my card.

Thanks for popping by today. Lovely to have you join me at Stampin' Sarah! If you'd like any further information about any Stampin' Up! products or find out more about hosting a party, placing an order or joining my team or hostess club, I'd love to chat to you. Mothers Day Sunflower Celebration

Hello all and a very happy Monday to you all. I'm posting a lot later than originally planned today but my life seems to be a whirlwind of medical appointments at the moment and I haven't had a second to post all day. I hope you all had a lovely weekend and to all the Mums and Nanas, I hope you had a very relaxing Mothering Sunday.

Today I wanted to share with you the card I made for my sister to give my Mum for Mothers Day. I had seen variations of this Banner Punch flower all over Pinterest and wanted to give it a go and create a Designer  Series Paper sunflower. I looked through my stacks of different Designer Series Papers and settled on these lovely Daffodil Delight coloured papers from the Quatrefancy Speciality Designer Papers. I simply punched a big pile of Banners using the fabulous Sale-A-Bration freebie punch using two different Daffodil Delight designs. I layered the Banners up and attached them to a punched circle (punched from the Natural Composition Speciality Designer Papers).

I finished with a flower cut from the Natural Composition papers and layered with a Bright Designer Button.  The leaves were created by punching a Pansy in green patterned paper and cutting the flower to form leaf shapes.

The 'Happy Mother's Day' sentiment was stamped using the Teeny Tiny Sentiments and punched with the Word Window Punch. I attached the sentiment to my Daffodil Delight 1/4" Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon bow using a tiny length of Bakers Twine.

I hope you enjoyed my crafty share today. I really enjoyed creating this punch sunflower and even more making it for my sister to give our Mum ;0)

The Banner Punch will be returning in the 2014-2014 Annual Catalogue. But today is your last chance to receive it for free as part of Sale-A-Bration. Simply visit my online store today by clicking here and spend £45 before 10pm tonight and you can choose the Banner Punch (or one of our other Sale-A-Bration exclusives) for free.

If you have any questions or queries about my crafty project today or about placing a Stampin' Up! order please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Easter Treat Bonnets

Good morning and a very happy crafty Monday to you.

I hope you have had a lovely weekend. Wasn't it lovely to see a bit of sunshine? We celebrated Sam's birthday yesterday with a little trip to the seaside with Summer and Sylvie. Summer had a whale of time at a local playground before going home for a big slice of birthday cake.

Today's crafty project was inspired by some beautiful Sweet Treat Cup Bonnets I'd seen over on Vicky's blog. What a simple yet seasonally perfect project for a quick and easy Easter gift. I just love how quickly they come together and all you need is:

These really are incredibly simple to make. Punch a circle in your chosen coloured cardstock, fill your treat cup, remove the glue liner around the edge and stick the cardstock circle in place. Finish with ribbon and flowers. And voila, a perfect Easter gift!

You can find all the products you need for this project through my online store.

If you click here or on the picture above you will be connected straight through to my store where you can browse all Stampin' Up!'s current products. It will take you to the Sale-A-Bration page for details of our current promotion (only two weeks left to take advantage!!!)

Gingham Garden Washi Wednesday

Hello lovely crafty readers.

How is your week going? Can you believe there are only a few days left of February left? Where is 2014 disappearing too? Not that I'll be sad to see Spring and Summer and an improvement in our weather.

And speaking of better weather and Spring around the corner, today's washi tape creation was inspired by a sunny day over the weekend. Seeing the sunshine breaking through the clouds made me want to create something bold and bright to match the sky.

For this card I used Melon Mambo and Whisper White layered and punched with the Blossom Punch, Pansy Punch & Petite Petals Punch. I picked these three punches as I loved the decreasing sizes and how well they all worked together.

To create the background I stuck strips of Gingham Garden Washi Tape (a bargain at £4.50 for the three colour designs) randomly so they would show through the floral windows. To finish the card I picked three fab Brights Designer Buttons from my pack and tied with Bakers Twine. The sentiment from Itty Bitty Banners was stamped in Melon Mambo, hand cut and then blinged a little bit with Basic Rhinestones.

I love the simple effect of washi tape through punched windows. You could easily customise this with any punch shape or washi design for any occasion. I don't really need any excuse to break open a pack of washi tape though. I just love it and use it most crafty sessions.

Thanks for stopping by today and please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 with any Stampin' Up! questions, to place an order, find out about joining my team or hosting a party. I'm only too happy to chat craftiness or stamping.

My Digital Studio Double Page Spread

Good morning crafty friends.

I've been busy with My Digital Studio over the weekend (I can just about manage to balance the laptop on my knees while the baby dances around reminding me we only have a couple more weeks before she arrives!).

I had fun looking through some holiday snaps from last year and creating this double page layout using the Number One Kit in MDS. This is an 8"x8" designer template within the programme across two pages (they look lovely side by side as the lines carry over the two pages). I loved how the colours worked so well with my Cornish Adventure pictures of Sam and Summer.

I can see My Digital Studio becoming my best friend over the upcoming months. I have so many pictures to catch up on (my scrapbooking is so behind) and will have a number of new pictures upcoming in the next few months with Summer becoming a big sis and our new little one appearing.

Here is another quick share, I created and shared this project yesterday on my Facebook page. If you'd like to follow me on Facebook you can find me at:

I created this little page using the fabulous Sale-A-Bration freebie download (you can choose this free with a purchase of £45) Hooray for Parties. I love the little pennants and the gorgeous floral papers too. I loved how the colours matched what Summer was wearing (not that you can see, but trust me it was very complimentary).

Don't forget, if you are unsure about digital scrapbooking or cardmaking, Stampin' Up! offer a free 30 day trial of My Digital Studio. Just click this link to be taken to my online store where you can download your free trial today.

Language of Love Desk Calendar

Good morning crafty friends.

I am not sure what happened to my crafty post yesterday. It seems to have not published. Another scheduling miss on my part I fear.

So I am announcing our FAB new product today instead (what better way to celebrate the start of the weekend!). Stampin' Up! have launched a sibling to the Big Shot, the Texture Boutique Embossing Machine. If you click on the flyer below it will connect you straight through to my online store for you to find out more about this fantastic new tool.

I love the smaller size and portability of the Texture Boutique machine. It is perfect for taking to craft groups, parties and crops as it is light and easily packed away. It is quick and easy to use and is designed to fit our Stampin' Up! Embossing Folders perfectly.

I love that combined with a purchase of our 3 most recent Embossing Folder additions (Ampersand, Arrows and Scallops) you can qualify for the new and exclusive Decorative Dots folder for free as part of Sale-A-Bration! What a perfect time to invest in a fab new crafty tool for your craft space and creating.

And it wouldn't be a crafty weekend kick off without a quick project to share with you today.

This is another of our team shoebox swap makes. This project was created by Lorraine and I so enjoyed making this little desk calendar.  Although it wasn't until I came to take the pictures that I realised just how wonky it was! Oops, I'll blame it on the baby brain!

This project uses a Crumb Cake base with Cherry Cobbler layer and stamping. The hearts are from the lovely new Language of Love stamp set which is brand new in our Spring Summer catalogue (please see the sidebar to the left if you'd like to view the catalogue online, or drop me an email on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk if you'd like a paper copy popped in the post to you). I love how these little hearts can be stamped and punched with the Small Heart Punch (a bargain at just £5.75).

I hope you have lots of crafty loveliness planned for your weekend. I am hosting a new catalogue Open House today so I am excited to welcome lots of lovely crafters to mine for a cuppa and a bit of crafting. If you are in Newport at all, please feel free to pop in and say hello.

Stampin' Up! UK Cross Stitch Christmas Hybrid Card

Good morning all. Welcome to Friday and *hooray* its nearly the weekend.

I thought I would share a different card project today. This year I took part in a cross stitch card exchange with a group of local Isle of Wight crafters. We were all given a crafty partner to exchange with. I cross stitched a few card designs with an idea in my head of creating these hanging bauble windows. However, it all looked a bit too busy. So I downsized and created just the one bauble with this owl stitching design. I then redesigned the card to include stamping using the Ornament Keepsakes stamp set and my Gold Metallic Encore stamp pad. I finished with embellishments including Basic Rhinestones and Silver 1/8" Ribbon

The layers of the cards were created with Night of Navy and Brushed Gold card stock.

Inside the card I created this little festive owl using the Builder Owl Punch and silver and red glimmer paper. I thought he added a nice extra layer of festive creativity ;0)

I really enjoyed the creative challenge of blending traditional cross stitch with Stampin' Up! and stamping. I love using the embellishments, stamps and punches to make a hybrid crafty card.

The card was posted yesterday and will be winging its way to my crafty partner as you read. Now to await my return card and see what crafty loveliness arrives through the door.

Please get in touch if you have any questions or queries about Stampin' Up! or My Digital Studio, I'd be only too happy to help: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Quick and easy Christmas makes

Today's crafty shares are two quick and easy Christmas makes. Both would be perfect for a Christmas table decoration or place setting.

Here are the two projects together. A stamped muslin bag and a decorated Ferrero Rocher chocolate:

I stamped the fantastic new Mini Muslin Bag (Page 36 of the Autumn Winter Catalogue) using the frame from Morning Post Numbers and the sentiment and present image are taken from the Wishing You stamp set on Page 23. I stamped the images using Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive and then sewed matching Designer Buttons on to the bag using Stampin' Up!'s fabulous Linen Thread.

We created this pennant embellishment by adding lengths of Bakers Twine to the muslin bag tie and then wrapping lengths of Season of Style Designer Washi Tape around the Twine and then cutting the v-shapes into the sealed tape. It is a great way of adding an extra little detail and showcasing the different uses for our Washi Tapes.
This was my favourite project of the day, a wrapped Christmas pudding Ferrero Rocher chocolate. I had seen this idea on Pinterest and knew it would be perfect for my Christmas Craft Day.

To create this project I cut a lattice shape in Early Espresso using the Lattice Big Die. I then attached a small piece of Sticky Strip to the top of the chocolate and then stuck the four corners to the sticky strip. I then covered with a small scallop circle punched using the 3.2cm Scallop Circle Punch (punched from Very Vanilla and sponged around the edges using Baked Brown Sugar). To finish we glued a small length of Gumball Green Stitched Satin Ribbon to the scallop circle and punched an Itty Bitty Shape from Red Glimmer Paper.

Thank you for popping by today. I am going to be working on my project tutorials over the weekend to share the main projects from my craft day with you over the weekend and in to next week. Looking forward to sharing some new ideas and techniques with you then. In the mean time, a very happy weekend to you and, as always, happy crafting.

Thursday craftiness

Good evening all. What a lovely day its been. I thought this weekend was meant to be a washout but our Isle of Wight weather has been beautiful today. Sam and I were meant to be camping but his leg is still on the mend so we're limited in what we can get up to. So instead I made the most of my days holiday by taking Summer swimming (she is a real water baby) and then doing a bit of gardening with Mum (we're at the worse before it gets better stage at the moment!).

Anyways, back to the important crafty business for the day. I have a couple of projects to share today from my May Cardmaking Class. Not sure how I missed sharing these cards previously.

The first uses a lovely technique of heat embossing the image using white embossing powder on to vellum and them sponging colour on to the reverse of the vellum. It gives you a lovely subtle colour on the front. The stamp set used for this card is Everything Eleanor. The colour combination is Summer Starfruit, Cajun Craze and Pool Party.
Here is another of the projects we made. A fancy fold envelope card made from a sheet of 12x12 (you'll have to forgive me as I cannot find the original tutorial I used. I will have a look later to try and add info here for you).
I used the Regals Designer Series Paper stack to create this card. I thought it had a lovely masculine feel to it that perfectly matched The Open Sea stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by today. Don't forget only 10 days left to take advantage of the Retiring Lists. I am placing orders regularly through the month and many items are already sold out. Please check the lists out here and I will be more than happy to add your items to an order for you.

Please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Best of Flowers Shoebox Make

Happy Tuesday to you ;0) And thanks for popping by today.

Today I am sharing a project inspired by this card I'd seen on a talented Demonstrator, Julie's blog. This clear block stamping technique is all the rage since it was demonstrated on stage at our recent Regional Event in Telford. I love the subtle blending of the Lucky Limeade and the Daffodil Delight. If you'd like to learn more about the technique see my earlier post here.

This was my card at my monthly team shoebox swap. We all get together to chat about Stampin' Up! and craft together. Its lovely to share Stampin' Up! with other like minded crafters. I'd love for you to join us. If you'd like to find out more, please get in touch or see the 'Join My Team' tab at the top.

The stamp used is from the exclusive Best of Flowers stamp set, available for a limited time to celebrate Stampin' Up!'s 25th anniversary. I stamped using a brand new colour, Burnt Brown Sugar, on Crumb Cake cardstock to create the tone on tone background. I then stamped the same image in Basic Black onto my blended background. I finished with Stitched Daffodil Delight ribbon.

For more info on the Best of Flowers click on the picture below.
133342 Best of Flowers
 £13.95

If you'd like to order this exclusive stamp set or take advantage of the remaining days of the Retiring Lists please get in touch and I will be happy to help you place an order delivered direct to you door (poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249).

Thanks for stopping by Stampin' Sarah today. Things are still a bit crazy here as my poor other half is still suffering with his leg elevated due to an injury last week. And I'm busy pottering and collecting bits and pieces for the camper van. Just need Sam on the mend so we can get out on adventures again. Cannot wait to pack up some crafting supplies and take my cardmaking and scrapbooking on the road.

Happy Father's Day

I thought I would share the card I made to celebrate Father's Day today. I'm off to spend the afternoon with my Dad at the Isle of Wight Festival watching The Script and Bon Jovi (hoping the sun makes an appearance at some point, or at least that it stops raining for the headliners!).

The card I made for my Dad uses some special sneak peak papers to be seen in a new catalogue near you very soon (the fab New York inspired Soho Subway Designer Series Papers). The stamp set I used to create the fish is By The Tide and I embellished with the fab This and That Washi Tape, linen thread and a retired button.

Wishing you all a lovely & crafty Sunday and thanks for popping by today. Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there.
