Beautiful You Paper Piecing from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

A very happy Sunday my crafty friends. I thought I would take some time out of my Sunday afternoon patchwork piecing schedule to share a set of paper pieced cards I created with some crafty friends last weekend.

If you've been on Pinterest recently you will have come across a multitude of cards created with the Stampin' Up! Beautiful You stamp set. I wasn't a big fan of this set from the  pictures in the catalogue until I saw all the creative things people have been making with it. And then once I'd seen the different paper piecing variations I knew I had to treat myself to the stamp set to have a go myself.

Paper piecing is my all time time favourite stamping technique and this stamp set lends itself perfectly. I began by cutting my layers of Whisper White and DSP from the Blooms and Bliss Designer Series Paper set. Once I had decided on my floral layers I then kept the offcuts of DSP for the stamping of the dresses/hats. I used Memento Black ink and stamped the elegant ladies once on to my Whisper White layer and then again on to my DSP scraps. I chose to turn my DSP over and use the coordinating papers on the other side (and I deliberately chose prints that would look like lovely elegant dresses).

Once you have stamped the image again on to DSP you simply take a sharp pair of scissors and cut around the dress elements from the image. Once cut you simply adhere on to the Whisper White stamped image giving you a simple but effective patterned fill on your stamping.

I love the simplicity of the technique and I felt the images were enough without making too much additional fuss on my cards. So once I had stamped the matching sentiments I simply added a hand doodled frame to each card and voila they were complete!

I am in the middle of so many crafty projects at the moment. I am hoping to share some progress pictures very soon. I have recently started a new charity Stitch Along for Mind and I am loving trying a new style of cross stitching. Once I've finished the colour I am stitching I'll take some pics to share. Similarly I am alternating the SAL with piecing together lots of patchwork hexagons for a quilt for my daughter's birthday (it is a real family affair as Dad is cutting paper patterns, Mum is tacking them and then we are all getting stuck in to stitching the hexagons together- a month till her birthday- wish us luck!!!)

Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up! and their products. I would be happy to help. Happy New Year from Stampin' Sarah HQ

Happy 2017 crafty friends. Can it really be so long since I last blogged? There have been so many exciting events and new products since my last post.

Have you seen the new Spring Summer catalogue? So many lovely new stamps, accessories, punches and crafty loveliness contained within its pages. And as always from January until the end of March with every £45 spent you can choose a Sale-A-Bration freebie with your order. All my ladies have been loving Sale-A-Bration this year. Click on the link above to check out the extras that could be winging their way to you soon.

And now back to some crafting. Since we moved I've found paper crafting a bit of a struggle. I am a get everything out and make a big mess kind of crafter not a contain everything neatly in one box. So not having everything with me in the new place we are living has been a challenge. But when I saw the gorgeous new stamp set High Tide and the beautiful Serene Scenery papers I knew they would make a perfect birthday card for my Mum.

I used the sentiment from the Big on Birthdays stamp set. I used Memento Black ink and stamped over the background paper adding the shore birds and grasses too.

For the inside of the card I added the seagulls and lighthouse.

Don't you just love these sea birds? They make me want to book a holiday somewhere with lovely beaches.

Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up! and their products. I would be happy to help. All items can be purchased online via my shop or get in touch directly and I can order them for you to be delivered direct to your door. I'd also love an opportunity to Demo for you and your friends at a crafty party.  As the hostess you earns exclusive free products and all guests get to create a fun crafty project to take home too! A Trio of Tin of Cards Makes from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning lovelies. It is a new cross stitch owl chart day so I am excited to see what Owl 3 has in store later today (I really should start giving my owls names!). But in the mean time I have a trio of cards to share today. I mentioned on Monday how much fun I had been having with my Tin of Cards Project Kit. These three cards are the first three I have made as examples for my Saturday class.

For these first three cards I used the examples from the kit instructions to create my cards. The kit contains enough supplies to make 16 cards as well as all the file dividers and the tin itself. The instructions suggest 4 cards of 4 designs. I wanted to mix things up a bit so I am going to be using the supplies to make cards for all sorts of occasions to fill my tin with.

This is my favourite of card of the three made with the beautiful butterfly elements in the kit.

I love the added detail of stamping your greeting underneath the Crushed Curry butterfly to show through.

I stayed quite close to the example for this card. I love the layered look of this card. This is actually just one piece of Designer Series Paper which is designed to give this effect behind the die cut card base.  To any followers of my blog you'll know how much I love adding doodling and dots to my cards. Well this card base features that effect already.

This is my third creation using the bakers twine, star shaped elements and die cuts. I love this gold foil shutter element. Plus you get lots of thin bits of gold foil punched out that you can reuse on other cards too.

This is just the first three creations using the kit. There are so many elements still left in the kit. I am really enjoying putting the cards together and looking forward to seeing my class ladies on Saturday even more.

Don't forget it is still Sale-A-Bration (until the end of March). If you purchased the Tin of Cards Project Kit and coordinating stamp set plus a Snail Adhesive you'd be able to choose a Sale-A-Bration freebie as an extra. Who doesn't love a free crafty gift?

There are three ways to benefit during Sale-A-Bration.

A Playful Pals Nana Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Have you seen the Playful Pals stamp set in the Spring Summer catalogue? I adore this stamp set and all the possibilities and combinations for creating these little critters. The set is designed to be used with the matching Pyramid Box Framelits but as you can see works perfectly on its own to make cards with.

Today is my Mum's Birthday and I wanted to create a card for my girls to give her. This is the card I came up with- a happy curly birthday lion using elements from the Playful Pals stamp set.

It is so simple to piece these elements together. I simply stamped the lion's face and then added the ovals for the mane. I simply love the curly wurly stamp for adding texture to the mane. I used Crushed Curry and Hello Honey for my main images. I then added black detailing for the stamped face.

The greeting is from the Spring Summer Party Wishes Stamp Set and I added the Nana using my Layered Letters Stamp Set. To finish I simply layered my lion image over So Saffron and Crushed Curry cardstock.

Thank you for popping by today. Pop back on Friday for more craftiness. I'll be sharing some of our card class makes with you next week.. Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up!, Sale-A-Bration or any of our new products. I would love to help. Going Global Embossed Love Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Happy Weekly Deals Wednesday Crafters. Hop on over to my online store to check out this weeks deals, including some great reductions on some 3d item Bigz Dies.

Now on to today's craftiness. I have another Going Global project to share with you today using the full suite of products including the fab World Traveller Textured Impressions Embossing Folder which I used to create the background for this card.

My colour scheme for this card is Mint Macaron, Pool Party and Whisper White. I used my 2" Circle Punch to punch out the globe stamped image which I stamped over with the 'The Love Between Us' sentiment.

I added Subtles Candy Dots to embellish. I used matching tones of blue and green to compliment my colour scheme.

I love the simplicity of this card and I adore this suite of products. There are so many possibilities for this stamp and paper set to make great masculine cards for birthdays and Valentines Day. And Stampin' Up! have made purchasing coordinating products so easy in the Spring Summer catalogue. You could purchase the Going Global stamp set, World Traveller Embossing Folder, Going Places DSP, Going Places Cardstock Pack, a pack of Dimensionals and matching Subtles Candy Dots for £47.00 which would then mean you would qualify for a Sale-A-Bration freebie from the exclusive limited time Sale-A-Bration catalogue. Click on the images below to see these products in more detail.

A Flowering Fields Panel Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Happy Flowering Fields Friday. Today is the final day of my Sale-A-Bration week of sharing and I have two colour versions of the same Flowering Fields panel card to share with you today.

I just adore this stamp set. I love a floral set where you can layer up images and create different textures with your stamping. This is a stamp set worthy of being in the big catalogue and not just available for a limited time during Sale-A-Bration. But amazingly you can receive it for free with a purchase of £45 or more.

To create this card I stamped my floral images across the panel which measured 7cm x 12cm (I stamped using my Memento Tuxedo Black). I coloured this first card direct to the cardstock with my Stampin' Write markers. I then cut my panel in to 3 (each panel is 7cm x 4cm).

I positioned my panels where I wanted them on the card and then stamped my Birthday Blooms sentiment in Tuxedo Black. I then mounted my panels with Dimensionals.

One final detail I added was to colour over the top of my flowers with my Wink of Stella Clear brush pen. This gives a lovely sparkly glimmer to the finished flowers.

I also made a second version using Blender Pens and my ink pads to give a subtler and softer colour combination.

I added Basic Pearls under my Blushing Bride sentiment for a little extra embellishments.

We will be making this card at my Monthly Card Class on Saturday January 23rd. My monthly Saturday classes are £8 for 4 projects and a cuppa at my home in Newport (Isle of Wight) and I would love to meet you and welcome you along. Drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk to book your spot or for more information.

A Papercut Botanicals For You Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Happy Monday crafters. I have been doing my best to combat the January blues this weekend by spending some time making super lovely Sale-A-Bration celebration cards. I have a whole week of projects to share with you using the exclusive stamp sets you can receive for free with an order of £45+ during Sale-A-Bration.

My first project of the week uses the Botanicals For You stamp set (designed to coordinate with the Botanical Blooms bundle from the Spring Summer catalogue). And I love a project where I can combine more than one of my crafty interests. For this card I stamped the greeting and the flowers so they each overlapped the other giving one continuous image. I stamped them in Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo and Old Olive.

I then used a craft knife to cut around all the elements of the joined stamped images giving a very delicate paper cut piece which I then mounted using cut up Dimensionals on the reverse. This was very different to my usual papercutting process as I would normally cut on the reverse (cutting a flipped image) on much thinner paper. However, I loved the effect of papercutting using my Stampin' Up! supplies. By mounting with Dimensionals you can see the shadow created by the papercut on the Very Vanilla piece behind.

I finished my card by mounting my paper cut over Very Vanilla, Old Olive and Melon Mambo. I then added Basic Rhinestones to my flowers. Such a fun way to bring together two of my crafting loves.

If you'd like to get hold of your own Botanicals for You stamp set you can receive it for free with a purchase of £45. So if you purchased the matching Botanical Blooms bundle you could receive this stamp set as a bonus for free!! Click the image below for more info on this years lovely Sale-A-Bration extras.

Pop back on Wednesday to see two cards I made with my favourite stamp of this years Sale-A-Bration, the little bird from Honeycomb Happiness. Thank you for popping by today. Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up!, Sale-A-Bration or any of our new products. I would love to help. All items can be purchased online via my shop or get in touch directly and I can order them for you to be delivered direct to your door. I'd also love to Demo for you and your friends at a crafty party. Pinkies Spring Summer Catalogue Blog Hop with Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Thank you for joining us on another Pinkies Blog Hop! We're showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin' Up!® Spring/Summer Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep hopping!

Welcome to the Isle of Wight and my little corner of the Pinkies Blog Hop celebrating the lovely new products from our fantastic new catalogue. If you've hopped here from Linda's blog welcome and I hope you've enjoyed the inspiration shared so far.

Today I have a project inspired by a Patty Bennett creation I glanced past on Pinterest to share with you. I loved the simplicity of using the new Birthday Blooms stamp set in a less obvious way. The heart border stamp is so striking and I chose every Stampin' Up! tone of blue to give an ombre style to my birthday card.

I fussy cut the 'Happiest' to give a little dimension and to allow the sentiment to overhang my 2" punched circle. I added Basic Rhinestones along with a length of Silver 1/8" Ribbon to give a little extra texture and sparkle.

Thank you for joining me on the hop today. Pop over to Sue's blog to continue the Spring Summer inspiration.

A Party Wishes Celebration from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning crafty friends and welcome to a new Spring Summer catalogue day.

The catalogue and Sale-A-Bration only launched yesterday and I have already welcomed a new team member and placed a little order to get my hands on another of the fantastic Sale-A-Bration freebie stamp sets.

I got a little crafty time last night with both the girls in bed early. Here is a birthday card I created using the Party Wishes stamp set. Would you believe I measured and taped my mask carefully to allow me to stamp the strip and it still ended up wonky! But that is the beauty of crafting. Not everything turns out perfectly. I still loved the overall effect of the card.

I started by masking the strip along the bottom of the card and stamping the cakes, balloons, candles and confetti in Melon Mambo, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise. I then used a Sponge Dauber to add Daffodil Delight over the top to define my masked strip a little better.

To finish I added the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie and stamped the balloons (I hand drew the strings with my Pacific Point Stampin' Write Marker). I added three Brights Candy Dots along the bottom.

If you'd like a copy of the new catalogue to peruse at your own leisure, drop me a line with your address on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk and I'll get one in the post to you asap.

Check out all the details of the current Sale-A-Bration promotion by clicking the image below.

Just to give you an idea of some of the items I love in the new Spring Summer catalogue there are fantastic new stamps, Project Life kits, embellishments, punches and Big Shot accessories. Here are just a few of my favourites:

I just love the Pyramid Pals Bundle. With Pyramid Pals Thinlets paired with the Playful Pals stamp set the possibilities are endless for these cute little animal creations.

I am a sucker for embellishments and the Spring Summer catalogue does not disappoint. From the gorgeous Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper for adding a touch of glitz to your projects to the new Honeycomb Embellishments which are a perfect texture addition to lots of special projects (and they also coordinate with my favourite Sale-A-Bration stamp set- more on that later!). And who doesn't love a cuppa? Well look at the adorable Have a Cuppa embellishments. These are just too lovely. I might just have to keep a set to look at and make me smile.

We have another new little mini punch pack launching with this catalogue, the Party Punch Pack perfect for birthdays, celebrations, invites, place settings.... endless fun. I got to try these punches at Convention and I just loved them instantly.

And finally, Stampin' Up! have partnered with Wink of Stella to offer these gorgeous sparkle brushes for adding a little glitter to your projects. I have both the gold and clear and I love them both. You can never have enough crafty sparkle I say.

And here is a little sneak of some Stampin' Up! creations using the Sale-A-Bration freebies.

My absolute favourite product from the Sale-A-Bration 2016 catalogue is the Honeycomb Happiness stamp set designed to compliment the Honeycomb Embellishments. I love this set simply for this happy little bird. I think he'll be one of my favourite images of the upcoming months.
