Join my fabulous team of stampers, The Island Inkers, for just £50!

Lots of exciting things to share with you this morning. I forgot to mention in my earlier posts that with every customer order placed in June, you will receive one of these fab new In Color bookmarks as a thank you. Aren't these colours lovely? Mossy Meadow makes me feel all Christmas-y and Blackberry Bliss makes me hungry ;0)

If you read my blog regularly you will know I have a fab team of Stampin' Up! stampers and that we meet regularly for a crafty shoebox swap. Well one of my lovely teamies, Lorraine, recently had a little girl (only 10 weeks or so between our bubbas!) and to celebrate her new arrival, I made this card (it was inspired by a card I'd seen over on Stampin' Pretty).

The colour scheme is Crisp Cantaloupe, Whisper White and Crumb Cake. There is a sneaky tiny amount of paper piecing on this card to create the bows on the little shoes. These were stamped using the Baby, We've Grown stamp set. The flowers were stamped and punched with the Petite Petals bundle. To finish I added pearls (one of which I now notice is missing!).

Growing and supporting my team of Demonstrators, the Island Inkers, is one of my favourite things about being involved with Stampin' Up!. I have made such great friends through crafting and I love being able to share and meet up regularly with them. I love to encourage them in building their businesses as well as celebrating their fantastic successes.

If you'd like to get involved and Join My Team, I would love to welcome you. You don't have to live locally to become an Island Inker as I am able to provide one to one support and assistance over the phone and via Skype. Plus, with the fantastic country wide events offered by Stampin' Up! I am regularly able to touch base with team members away from the Isle of Wight.

This is a perfect time to join Stampin' Up! as they are currently running the Join for £50 promotion and with the new catalogue just around the corner you are joining at one of the most exciting times in the Stampin' Calendar!

Please drop me a line if you'd like to find out more or click here to sign up directly online.

Don't forget the current promotions at the moment using the links below:

You can order all Stampin' Up! products through my online store by clicking here or by clicking on any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist.

Tulip Matchbox with Stampin' Up! Blessed Easter Stamp Set

Good morning and a very happy new crafty week to you.

What did you get up to this weekend? I spent the day at a Retro and Vintage Fayre yesterday promoting both Stampin' Up! and my South Hill Designs jewellery business. I met some really lovely people and Sylvie even got to chat to a lady with the same name. We had a fun day and lots of interest in the Retiring List and locket making too.

Today's crafty make is a matchbox made with the Envelope Punch Board created for my May card class. I saw a beautiful swap made for the recent Stampin' Up! incentive trip which used the tulip image from the Blessed Easter stamp on top of a matchbox so set about creating my own version. I used this tutorial video for the basic measurements and shape. I used the In Color Designer Series Paper Stack for the drawer and the In Color Coredinations Cardstock (currently reduced to £7.67 as part of the Retiring List) for the outer box.

The inside was stamped with the tulip image to give a little extra decoration.

The Blessed Easter stamp is only available to purchase for another month (not available after June 30th). When I mounted the stamp I cut the sentiment and mounted separately so that I could stamp the flowers on their own. This allows me to use the stamp all year round. If this is a stamp you have had your eye on, get your order in soon before Blessed Easter is gone for good.

Floral Frames Treat Box from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning and  welcome to another crafty week here at Stampin' Sarah! Sorry for the day late blog post but, excitingly, I have signed up with another direct sales company over the weekend to run alongside my Stampin' Up! business. I have been busily getting everything together for my new venture. But more about that later. Back to today's crafty share.

I had seen these beautiful little rose treat holders somewhere in the blogosphere. I fell in love with them. But the description only said they were made with the Floral Frames Framelits with no instructions. So after a few frustrating attempts at working out how these are made I came up with these picture instructions to help you create these for yourself. They are perfect for fitting one of these lovely (and addictive) Lindor Chocolates in.

I have used the largest two Floral Frames Framelits to make the layered boxes and then the next size down (with the rounded petals) for the base.

These are the component parts you will need to make your rose treat holder:

This is how the flowers need to be scored (you need to do this with both floral die cuts). I have also inked and curled the edges (as shown in the pictures) in a contrasting colour to give that edged rose effect.

You then need to fold the tabbed (uninked) bits inside to create two little boxes as below.

I have then layered 4 Dimensionals on top of one another on the bottom of the smallest box (to raise it up and give the layered petals of a rose) and stuck this inside the larger box. You can then stick both boxes on to your inked green floral base.

Here is the finished rose box made with Daffodil Delight, Crisp Cantaloupe and Pistachio Pudding cardstock.

Here are my two sample boxes together (the other one is made from two layers of Rose Red cardstock with a Garden Green base.

These are super simple and effective to make. If you have any questions or if the pictures aren't clear at all, please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk and I'll happily answer your questions ;0)

You can order any of the Stampin' Up! products through my online store by clicking here or by clicking any of the product links above. I will also happily order any products for you. Just drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 and I'll happily assist. And don't forget if you order £60 of products you can choose a photopolymer stamp set for free. See this post for more info.

Thursday Technique Tip- Stamping Block Backgrounds

Lots to share with you today.

Its such an exciting time of the year to be a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator as we get our sneak peak at the new 2013-2014 catalogue tomorrow ready for the launch on July 2nd. It is going to be a late night for me tonight waiting for the sneak peaks to go live on the Demonstrator website. If you'd like to get sneaky peak access to new products as well as a fab discount on all crafty products in the catalogues, have you thought about signing up as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator. You can find out more using the 'Join My Team' tab above. And today is the last day for signing up and getting an extra £25 in your Starter Kit (thats £155 for the bargain price of £99). I'd love to welcome you to the Wight Stampers.

Now, for a bit of craftiness. The card above is one of the technique based cards I taught at this month's crafty card class. It uses a technique I learned from a very talented Demo friend, Lynne, at our recent Stampin' Up! traning event in Telford.

You can create these lovely blended backgrounds using your acrylic stamping block, inks (pens, ink pads, ink refills) and a water spritzer. It is such a fab technique and it never looks the same twice ;0)  I created three blended blocks of colour and then stamped over using The Open Sea and By The Tide stamp sets.

Lynne has posted a technique video over on Youtube explaining this technique. You can find it here:

And while I am sharing videos. Here is another for you. This direct from Stampin' Up! UK showing what we all get up to at our Regional Events. Watch closely and you might even spot a familiar face ;0)

Thanks for stopping by today. Happy Crafting ;0)

New Baby Boy Collage Card

Todays card is a CASE of a beautiful collage card I'd seen on Julie's Japes blog. I used Julie's card as the starting point for this weeks Try it Tuesday as it was a perfect inspiration point for my friends celebration card. I've seen so many of these square collage cards and wanted to have a go at one for a while. Last week one of my closest friends, Natalie, had her little boy Theo and I thought it was a perfect excuse to have a go (and his name would fit perfectly on this 14.8cm x 14.8cm square card).

The colour scheme is Very Vanilla, So Saffro, Pool Party and Crumb Came. The stamps I used are from Bundle of Love, Notable Alphabet and Aviary.

I loved creating all these mini squares to form the collage as a whole. Although it was a little challenging trying to line them all up (thank goodness for Anywhere Glue Sticks and their slight moveability when it comes to sticking things down).
A HUGE congratulations to Natalie and Ben on the arrival of Theo. I look forward to meeting him soon.

Please get in touch to find out more about Stampin' Up! and their products. Happy to help in any way I can. I have availability for party dates through May and June as well as a few spaces for my upcoming card and scrapbooking classes.

Happy Tuesday Craftiness

Try It Tuesday: Stamped Vellum Scrapbook Page

I was procrastinating on Pinterest recently and came across this beautiful layout. I decided to have a go at CASing the project using papers I had to hand. I loved the feature of the Perfectly Preserved stamped jar on vellum to create a vase full of matching flowers.

I used this as one of our pages for my April scrapbooking class and it was lovely to see how the ladies adapted it for their photos. Julie used a photo of a beautiful dessert flower and changed the floral highlights on the page to pink to match her page. It looked lovely ;0)

The papers we have used for this are: Tea for Two & Floral District Designer Series Paper. These have been layered on to Crumb Cake and Night of Navy cardstock. The flowers were punched from So Saffron using the Boho Blossoms punch and finished with Basic Pearls (which I have just noticed are wonky in my photo- typical!).

I was really pleased with how it turned out. And i loved scrapbooking this photo of my grandparents too.

If you fancy giving scrapbooking a go why not pop along to one of my classes. The next class is booked for Monday June 3rd. Alternatively, why not
check out the AMAZING new This and That journalling and scrapbooking product range from Stampin' Up! I am offering an extra special gift for the first 10 people that place orders from this range. Get in touch on 01983 609249 or poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk to find out more.

Two fancy frames for a Friday

Happy Friday!

Only a couple of hours and it'll officially be the weekend. Hooray!! I'm excited to be demo-ing for some good friends tonight. I have a lovely Swallowtail card planned for the ladies. What a perfect way to start the bank holiday.

Today I am sharing two of our April card class projects. The first uses the Oval Framelits from the Spring Summer catalogue to create this peep through frame. Perfect to mount the dress created using the Dress Up Framelits and the Vanilla Flower Trim. The black oval inside the card was stamped in Whisper White with the En Francais background stamp.

I could use these Flower Trim flowers on all my projects at the moment. I just absolutely love their versatility.
Our second card uses The Open Sea ship stamped in Chocolate Chip and coloured with inks and blender pens. This was then set on to a Brushed Gold frame embossed (and cut around) using the Designer Frames folder. The Happy Birthday sentiment is from the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set.
Wishing you all a very Happy May Day weekend. Lets hope the sun shines for the bank holiday.

Happy long weekend craftiness ;0)

Exciting New Product Line: This and That

Good morning and what lovely news I have to share with you today! A sneaky peak (and chance to order!) of a new product range from the new 2013-2014 Catalogue.

Introducing..... This and That!

This range is inspired by the Smash books which have been huge over the past couple of years. It brings together a love of pretty papers with true scrapbooking in the fashion we all loved as kids (cutting, glueing, sticking, collecting tickets and bits and bobs).

This new product range includes a fancy journal, rotary stamp, 3 rolls of washi tape (LOVE this!), 12 sheets of coordinating patterned papers and 4 sheets of stickers. All of these new products will be available in the new Catalogue launching July 1st but Stampin' Up! are giving you the chance to get your hands on them exclusively during May.

And even better if you want ALL 5 items you can buy the complete bundle at 15% discount. What a bargain!

With my love of scrapbooking and Stampin' Up! this was my absolute dream bundle of products. So as you can imagine, I was up till midnight waiting to put my preorder in. Now just counting down the days till my order arrives (and of course I will be sharing pictures and creations as soon as it is delivered!)

This would be perfect for a general scrapbook for keeping gift tags, tickets and bits and bobs in. Or it could be used for scrapping a special holiday, special occasion or special memories.

I would be more than happy to chat to you about this fantastic new product line (as well as all of Stampin' Up!'s lovely other products!). Please drop me an email or give me a call for more info: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 / 07830 343830. And please check out my Promotions tab above for more info on other special promotions I am running this month.

Here is more info on what is included in the bundle (click on the picture for more detailed info).

And finally to make up for the lack of a Try it Tuesday feature yesterday (my usual blogging time was taken up with my monthly scrapbooking class!) here is a layout we created yesterday.

This uses the fabulous Floral District Designer Series Paper coupled with the fabulous Circle Circus stamps. We also used the Delicate Doilies Sizzlets and Builder Brads to create the matching embellishments. The colour scheme for this layout was Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry. I love this super summery layout. I just need to add a title and it'll be perfect!

Thanks for popping by today. Please leave a comment so I can pop back and see your lovely crafty creations.

Please get in touch for any further info on Stampin' Up! and to place your orders. Always happy to help.

Fancy Vintage Screen Card

Good morning and welcome to Make it Thursday.

Today I am sharing two projects from our monthly card class. The card above was our Fancy Vintage Screen. I had seen a similar shaped card on Pinterest and decided to design my own version.

We used papers from the Tea for Two Designer Series Paper set as a stamping base (daubered around the edges with Soft Suede) and then stamped images from Elements of Style and Serene Silhouettes. We then coloured the floral image and punched butterflies using both the Elegant Butterfly & Bitty Butterfly Punches. We finished with basic pearls and floral trim. The screen shaping was created using the Decorative Label punch. If you only place your paper in to the punch half way and then punch you get the lovely shaped effect along the bottom.
Our second project (and my technique for the day) is this Vellum gift bag. I know my crafty ladies love using Vellum in their crafting and had previously loved the Vellum bags available in our previous seasonal catalogue. So I set about finding a gift bag tutorial that I could try using Vellum with. My tip for the day is to try replacing your usual cardstock or designer papers with a sheet of Vellum when making a gift bag to see the effect you will get. Vellum looks beautiful embossed (it goes white where the stress is placed on the Vellum when embossing). This works especially well with smaller bags like this. It would be perfect for party favours or to put brightly coloured chocolates in as a gift.

We finished our bag with an image stamped using Fine Feathers and a bitty button layered with matching cardstock.

Please get in touch if you would like any further information on Stampin' Up! and the beautiful products or to talk through joining Stampin' Up! as a Demonstrator. I also have upcoming dates available for parties if you'd like to earn some extra product freebies. Drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Thanks for popping by today and happy crafting ;0)

Stamping on tissue technique

Good afternoon all and welcome to the weekend.

I shared a project last month that my downline Hayley showed us how to make at our monthly shoebox swap. I fell in love with the stamping on tissue effect so decided to adapt her card for my swaps for an upcoming Stampin' Up! Regional event in Telford (one of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator- meeting up and swapping ideas with other Demonstrators from around the country. If you fancy coming along too there is till time to sign up as a Demo and book your place on the event. Registration closes on Friday April 26th. Click here to order your Starter Kit and start your Stampin' Up!journey. Drop me a line and I'll happily chat through joining my team and getting started with Stampin' Up, or see the 'Join My Team' tab at the top of my blog).
So for this weeks Thursday technique (on a Friday) I am sharing how to create the crumpled tissue effect. I won't share my completed project just yet as the Telford event isn't for a couple of weeks and I don't want to ruin the surprise for all the Demos I might swap with. The component parts of my project are above.

I stamped the larger butterfly from Papillon Pot Pouri in Chocolate Chip on to a small piece of white tissue paper. Once the ink was completely dry I then screwed and crumpled the tissue up into a small ball. You then cover your piece of Newsprint DSP with Anywhere Glue Stick and flatten the tissue onto the DSP. I tried to centre each butterfly and you don't flatten it completely to give a textured and raised effect to your image.

Here is the finished tissue paper effect. You get a lovely crinkled faux suede effect. I finished my image with Soft Suede daubered round the image for an aged vintage effect. This image and technique puts me in mind of the old museum displays with mounted insects and butterflies.

I hope you enjoyed todays quick 'how to technique'. Pop back on May 11th and I'll share the completed project with you ;0)

If you would like any further information on Stampin' Up! or joining my expanding team, I would be only too happy to help. Get in touch on 01983 609249 or poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk to find out more.

Wishing you all sunshine and a lovely crafty weekend.

I have searched my photos for something to share and sadly I have nothing new to share with you today. So instead I thought I would post a quick feature above to show the versatility of our beautiful bitty buttons. I love using them with patterned papers to layer up and create perfectly coordinated embellishments for cards and scrapbook pages.

Time is just flying by at the moment. In between being a full time Mum, part time Charity Manager, crafter, Demonstrator and tv-addict I just don't have enough hours in the day to finish anything. But i have a lot of lovely projects in the pipeline to share with you very soon. And I have a tutorial feature lined up for you on Thursday on a lovely technique using tissue paper and stamping.
