A Happy Thing Blendabilities Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning crafty friends. And a very Happy Wednesday to you. We're on to the happy downward slide to another fantastic weekend.

We saw a small smattering of snow here yesterday. Not enough to build a snowman. But enough for Summer to throw a couple of snow balls at her Dad. I enjoyed watching the snow fall from my office window periodically through the day.

I have another of our class cards to share today. I featured previously a pair of cards I made with the lemon stamp from the A Happy Thing Sale-A-Bration stamp set so I wanted to give a bit of focus to the beautiful bird stamp from the same set.

I had seen this card on Pinterest made by the talented Fran Sabad (thank you for the inspiration) and decided to grab my Blendabilities and give it a go. I love the natural tone to this card and knew it would be a perfect Father's Day or male birthday card (I left the card without a sentiment so my ladies could personalise it themselves).

I used the following products for this card:

  1. Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and Crumb Cake Blendabilities Markers
  2. Crumb Cake Cardstock
  3. Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  4. Hardwood Background Stamp
  5. Soft Suede and Early Espresso Ink
  6. Sponge Daubers
  7. Naturals Candy Dots
I so love using my Blendabilities now and love finding the perfect blend of colours for my stamps. I love the development of colouring stamped images. Stampin' Up! have really innovated with their new ranges and I love trying new techniques and stamping ideas.

And don't forget that as it is Wednesday we have a new range of Weekly Deals launching today. There are some great products this week including Blendabilities and Silver Foil cardstock at fantastic prices!

A Sale-A-Bration 2015 Happy Thing set of cards from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning and a very Happy Thursday to you all. What has your week brought you so far? I returned to work this week following my Sylvie maternity leave. What an adjustment that is. I love the routine of work and of structuring my day. But I also really miss the girls too and our casual days at home. Still today is my final work day of the week so I will have to come up with something fun to do with the girls tomorrow when I am at home with them again.

Today I wanted to show you this pair of cards I made with the gorgeous A Happy Thing Sale-A-Bration freebie stamp set (receive this stamp free with a purchase of £45+). I initially got this stamp set as I loved the little bird stamp and thought he would lend himself to Blendabilities colouring. I had completely overlooked the lemon image until I came across this little picture in my Next catalogue.

I just fell in love with the colour scheme of this little girls dress and knew it would make the perfect starting point for using the little lemon stamp from A Happy Thing.

So here is what I came up with.

I picked Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay as my main cardstock colours and used my Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendabilities Markers to blend and shade the lemons.

I created the Bermuda Bay border using my Scallop Edge Border Punch.

After creating my first card I wanted to carry on colouring so decided to create a simply One Sheet Wonder style card. I stamped the lemon image all over my piece of cardstock and then filled the gaps with the 'Love Life' sentiment. I then blended and coloured the leaves and lemons. For this card I used the Blendabilities Colour Lifter marker to give the extra bit of colour definition. I lifted some of the blended yellow on the lemons to have that dimensional feel.

I really enjoyed using the Next catalogue picture as inspiration for my two cards today. I'm now going to keep my eye out for more inspiring images and see what I can come up with.

Blendabilities Bearing Gifts Christmas Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning and a very Happy December 22nd to you! How was your weekend? We had a lovely one here on the Isle of Wight. I have been wrapping and making and generally getting last minute things done for the big day! Can you believe its here almost? This year has run away with me! That'll be having a baby I guess. Time has just flown by.

I have another festive make to share today. I have to get in all my Christmas-y projects before I start my Spring Summer sneak peeks from Friday onwards. Today's make uses the Bearing Gifts stamped paired with my Blendabilities markers.

I stamped the main image using my Memento Black ink pad and then coloured and shaded with a variety of my Blendabilities. I used a dauber to sponge the edges of my Whisper White layer with Pool Party ink. I layered my stamped layer on to All is Calm DSP, Wild Wasabi and Pool Party cardstock.  I stamped the sentiment on to Wild Wasabi and cut to the banner shape.

Here is a close up of my Blendabilities colouring and the Frosted Sequin finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by today. Lovely to have you visit on the lead up to Christmas. I'd love to see your festive makes so please leave me a comment so I can pop by and visit your blogs.

Snowflake Card Thinlit Die from Stampin' Up!: An All is Calm Christmas

When flicking through the Stampin' Up! Autumn Winter catalogue for the first time my eye was instantly drawn to the lovely Snowflake themed suite of products. I love both my Label and Circle Thinlit Flip Dies so I knew I'd have to order the matching Snowflake Card Thinlit Die to create some Christmas cards with the lovely flip element.

For this card I cut the base from Island Indigo and then ran a piece of All is Calm Designer Series Paper through the Big Shot with the Snowflake Thinlit Die to cut the two flap pieces to layer the front of the card.

I then cut two of the larger snowflakes from Bermuda Bay cardstock and layered them to fit over the Snowflake element in the flip card. To finish I cut a smaller snowflake from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and glued a silver sequin from the Frosted Sequins collection to the centre.

I also placed several of the Frosted Sequins across the card for an added bit of glimmer. I coloured small Rhinestones with my Night of Navy Blendabilities Markers to add to the centre of each sequin.

The sentiment is stamped using Island Indigo and is taken from the Wondrous Wreath Photopolymer Stamp Set. I punched the sentiment using the Decorative Label Punch (I punched a second Label from Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper which I cut in half and layered underneath to give a sparkly edging to my sentiment) and embellished with a row of Rhinestones.

And the final detail of the card I wanted to share with you are these beautiful All is Calm Snowflake Embellishments. They come with a hanging loop so you can easily tie them to your projects to add a beautiful layer of texture and a little bit of added luxury too.

Don't forget to check out this week's Weekly Deals by clicking on the picture below.

Thank you for popping by today and for sharing in my festive creativity excitement. I spent a good while yesterday photographing lots of exciting projects I have been working on to share with you over upcoming weeks. Lots of fun things to share to inspire you on your seasonal crafting adventures.

I am off on a walking expedition with my two girls today (and no I'm not climbing any mountains or anything. It is an expedition as getting two littlies dressed and out of the door feels like a monumental achievement!). I'm thinking feeding the ducks, a playground and picnic. So keeping my fingers crossed that the weather stays lovely.

Free Bundles with the Big Shot in August

Good morning and welcome to August. Stampin' Up! are celebrating the summer with a fantastic promotion. If you buy a Big Shot anytime through till August 31st you can choose a free Framelit and stamp set bundle to get you started with your new crafty tool. That is up to an extra £55 in value for free!!

My crafting was revolutionised the day I bought my Big Shot and I can honestly say it was the best investment I have made in my cardmaking and scrapbooking. I love adding texture with embossing folders and there is hardly a card goes by without some cut out or shape added with a Framelit or Die.

If you click on either of the pictures (above or below) you can find out more and see the bundles in more detail. And as an added bonus, if you already own the Big Shot you can purchase one of these exclusive bundles at the 15% discount through till the end of the month.

And to celebrate such a fantastic promotion I wanted to share another of my recent Perfect Peacock makes with a flourish created with the Big Shot and my Bitty Banners Framelits.

I had seen a Peacock on Pinterest coloured with a blend of greens and I just loved it (green being my favourite colour and all) so I gave it my own spin. I used my Coastal Cabana, Old Olive, Rich Razzleberry and Daffodil Delight Blendabilities to create this lovely chap. I then added Gold Glitz Dazzling Details to the feathers for an extra bit of pizzazz. The Happy Day is from the Ronald McDonald charity stamp set Flamingo Lingo. I cut the Whisper White layer with my matching Bitty Banner Framelit. I then layered on to Old Olive and cut a slighly larger banner by hand.

I will never get tired of colouring and creating with this stamp. I just find colouring and shading this Peacock so relaxing. I have my mind on colouring this was a festive colour scheme to see if I can somehow make a Christmas card with the image. I have the last 6 sets of Blendabilities winging their way to me as I type. I cannot wait to get blending with some new colours. Pop over to my Online Store by clicking on any of the product links above to find out more or drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249 to chat about Stampin' Up!

I'd love to help you get started with your Big Shot. So if you purchase your Big Shot either online with me or by placing your order via email (poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk) or over the phone (01983 609249) I am offering a one to one Big Shot class to get you going with your new die cutting machine. If you do not live local to me I will happily send the project kits in the post for you to make at your leisure.

Please let me know if you have any questions. I'd love to help.

Vivid Vases and Stampin' Up! Blendabilities

I have been having fun playing with a brand new product from Stampin' Up!, the Blendabilities alcohol markers. I wanted to show these new pens at my new catalogue Open House so came up with this card design using the Vivid Vases stamp.

The Blendabilities are fantastic pens for colouring and blending with in a range of Stampin' Up! toned colours. They work beautifully with our stamped images (stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink) and are completely complimentary and coordinated with our cardstock, ribbons, Designer Series Papers  and embellishments. Click on the Blendabilities image below to see our full range of pens and accessories:

The card I created uses our new 2014-2014 In Colors as its inspiration. I coupled a cardstock base of Hello Honey with papers from the Moonlight Designers Series Paper Stack. As you can see from the top photo I used different colour card bases with different paper designs for a different effect.

We stamped the image from Vivid Vases and then coloured with my Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Cherry Cobbler, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry Blendabilities to colour the vase bases. I found just through trial and error ways to colour the vases to give the blended effect. It is well worth giving yourself a guilt free sheet of images to colour just to get the hang of it. I am always incredibly tough on myself when using a new technique. But I enjoyed playing with these pens and trying different ways of colouring. In the end I started with the darkest shade first and blended to the lightest. I then coloured the whole vase with the lightest pen to help blend all the colours together.
