A Festive Fireplace Easel Card Sneak Peek from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning crafters and welcome to another Christmas-y Autumn Winter Catalogue Sneak Peek. This time I am sharing a project I came up with using the upcoming Autumn Winter Festive Fireplace stamp set and Fireside Framelit bundle.

As soon as I saw this stamp I knew it would be PERFECT for a vellum and battery tealight easel card creation. I am a big fan of using battery tealights for my special Christmas cards. They become a decoration in themselves and its nice to sometimes give an extra special card. So this is what I came up with.

I found packs of battery tealights in my local pound shop and as a bonus they were the flickering ones giving the fire an extra realistic light effect. I deliberately photographed this card as it was getting dark to give you an idea of how lovely and warm the card felt with the glowing fireplace.

For this card I used a 10.5cm x 29.7cm (half A4 cut at 10.5cm). I scored the card at 14.8 and again at 7.4 (this formed the folded over easel part of the card).  This is a standard easel card in format. However, I had to cut the window through three layers of card using a craft knife to give the tealight the chance to glow through the fireplace. I started by cutting the middle of the fireplace out and using the middle rectangle as a template to cut the next two layers (I then carefully lined them up to adhere them together).  I stamped the fire on to a small piece of Vellum cardstock (slightly larger than the hole in the middle of the fireplace) and turned over to color the image with Stampin' Write markers. I sandwiched the Vellum between the layers before adhering the fireplace to the main card.

I used a Cherry Cobbler based layered with Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla. I stamped the fireplace on to Very Vanilla and coloured with Blender Pens and Cajun Craze ink. The Merry Christmas sentiment is from another new stamp set called Cozy Christmas. To help the easel stand up I used Candy Dots and jewels. It gives just enough height to help the card stand up.

Finally here is a view of the card from the side to show how I positioned the tealight to make the fire glow.

I think I have earned a cuppa and a sit down today. It is 11.37am as I type this and the girls had me up at 5am. By 7am we were out walking and enjoying the warm morning (I thought as the weather is so changeable at the moment it would be best to take advantage of the sunshine early). We walked up over the hill to Carisbrooke Castle and the girls enjoyed the sights and meeting lots of early morning dog walkers. We then came home and baked a cake, a quiche, painted Summer's nails and I finally found time to publish this blog. A cuppa is definitely now in order. Phew......

Fun with the Adventure Awaits Bundle by Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning crafty friends. I have a confession. I am in love with the new Adventure Bound Paper Stack. I cannot express just how lovely these papers are. They are 4 1/2" x 6 1/2" in size which is perfect for mounting on to a card front as I have done here. The stack has 48 sheets (4 each of 12 double sided designs) and each sheet is lovely quality thick cardstock.

These papers are perfect for masculine projects and would suit a Birthday, Father's Day, graduation or any celebration where more masculine colours are needed. And they are so lovely on their own they need little extra embellishment.

This card is a case of a little frame in the Spring Summer catalogue. I love the simplicity of simply stamping the 'Adventure Begins' stamp in bold black over the top of the tree image. This would be a perfect 'Travel Safe' card for someone off on a travelling adventure.

A Sale-A-Bration 2015 Happy Thing set of cards from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning and a very Happy Thursday to you all. What has your week brought you so far? I returned to work this week following my Sylvie maternity leave. What an adjustment that is. I love the routine of work and of structuring my day. But I also really miss the girls too and our casual days at home. Still today is my final work day of the week so I will have to come up with something fun to do with the girls tomorrow when I am at home with them again.

Today I wanted to show you this pair of cards I made with the gorgeous A Happy Thing Sale-A-Bration freebie stamp set (receive this stamp free with a purchase of £45+). I initially got this stamp set as I loved the little bird stamp and thought he would lend himself to Blendabilities colouring. I had completely overlooked the lemon image until I came across this little picture in my Next catalogue.

I just fell in love with the colour scheme of this little girls dress and knew it would make the perfect starting point for using the little lemon stamp from A Happy Thing.

So here is what I came up with.

I picked Daffodil Delight and Bermuda Bay as my main cardstock colours and used my Daffodil Delight and Old Olive Blendabilities Markers to blend and shade the lemons.

I created the Bermuda Bay border using my Scallop Edge Border Punch.

After creating my first card I wanted to carry on colouring so decided to create a simply One Sheet Wonder style card. I stamped the lemon image all over my piece of cardstock and then filled the gaps with the 'Love Life' sentiment. I then blended and coloured the leaves and lemons. For this card I used the Blendabilities Colour Lifter marker to give the extra bit of colour definition. I lifted some of the blended yellow on the lemons to have that dimensional feel.

I really enjoyed using the Next catalogue picture as inspiration for my two cards today. I'm now going to keep my eye out for more inspiring images and see what I can come up with.

Happy New Year Saleabration 2015 Sneak Peek Desk Calendar from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Happy New Year to all my crafty friends and readers.

Let me start with a huge thank you for all your support throughout 2014. I look forward to seeing what craftiness is in store for 2015.

I hope you had a lovely festive season and a fantastic New Year celebration. January 1st is my birthday so I had a lovely day with my family. We started with a morning walk on the beach and then I made homemade soup for everyone at mine. Then Sam treated me to a trip to see The Hobbit in the afternoon. I have been to the cinema for my birthday every year for as long as I can remember. It must be the film studies graduate in me ;0)

So to celebrate 2015 I have my virtual club gift project to share with you today. For all my lovely monthly club ladies I made these desk stand calendars with fun little post it notes attached.

I was looking for inspiration for this months order gifts and I found a whole file of these 'Keep Calm' themed post its in my crafty drawers. The colours were perfect In Color 2013-2015 matches so I used that as the basis for creating these desk easel stand calendars.

I made two colour ways. One with a Crisp Cantaloupe base (stamping in Crisp Cantaloupe, Calypso Coral and Tangerine Tango) and the other with a Pistachio Pudding base (stamping in Pistachio Pudding, Wild Wasabi and Garden Green).

The stand up section was Baked Brown Sugar which I stamped over in Baked Brown Sugar, Soft Suede and Early Espresso inks.  I just cannot get enough of the Sale-a-Bration 2015 stamp set Lotus Blossom. I love the effect of the layered stamping. It is so therapeutic to line up each layer (made easier by the fact that the stamps are photopolymer).

These were super simple to make. I simply started with a 20cm x 10cm base which I scored at 10cm and 5cm. I then folded the 5 cm section inward (towards the post it notes) and attached my 10cm square Baked Brown Sugar section to form the stand up easel section. Super simple. And perfect for any occasion.

Thank you for popping by today.  I am taking part in a Pinkies Sale-A-Bration celebration Blog Hop tomorrow with my fellow team of Demonstrators. We'd love it if you popped back to join the hop and gain some Sale-a-Bration creative ideas.

Flower Pot Diaries for my Hostess Club from Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning all and a very Happy Friday to you. What are your weekend plans? I had hoped to get lots of crafting done but I have a craft related injury involving a glue gun and both thumbs which is making all things crafty quite challenging. Hoping my burn blisters heal quickly as I have a few things to prep for next weekend's Gifts for Girls Christmas Fayre in Cowes (stop on by between 10.30am and 4.30pm on Saturday 15th November at Cowes Yacht Haven).

Today's share is last month's Hostess Club gift. I made covered diaries for my ladies last year and they went down a treat. So I had another go. I purchased the little diaries in Tesco and then used a pack of Flower Pot Designer Series Paper to create the covers. I was able to get two covers from a sheet of 12"x12" (with some excess spare for smaller projects).

For the '2015' I used my Skinny Mini Photopolymer Alphabet stamped in Night of Navy and then punched with my Curly Label Punch. The final embellished touch was a matching flower punched with my Itty Bitty Accents flower punch.

The final touch was this stamp inside. This isn't strictly Stampin' Up! as it is a stamp set I have had in my stash for quite a while. But the stamp is very true for all my Hostess Club ladies. If you would like to find out more about joining one of my Virtual Clubs and earning hostess freebies (as well as receiving a handmade gift from me each month) please drop me a line on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or click on the Virtual Club tab above.

Thanks for stopping by today. If you have any questions about today's project or the products I have used, please get in touch on poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249. You can order online direct through my store by clicking the product links above or the pictures below. I also have availability in the next few months for your very own crafty party so drop me a line to find out more and get your date in the diary.
