Welcome to the Isle of Wight

We’re so glad you could join us on our Blog Hop. We’ll be showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® 2012-2013 Annual Catalogue. Simply use the buttons at the end of each post to keep on hopping. We love comments, so please do tell us what you think!

Welcome to the Isle of Wight for my little section of the Pinkies blog hop today. You will have joined me today from Nicky's blog who shared a lovely triple time stamping (my favourite technique as you know) project using French Foliage, a lovely set which has carried over into our new catalogue.

The projects I am sharing with you today have been made for my good friend Natalie who will be celebrating her birthday on October 28th. I wrote in her wedding card in March that a handmade gift would follow. Well it is following, just a few months longer than I had anticipated (in fairness life with a newborn didn't allow much time for crafting).

After Natalie got married in March I printed a whole load of photos and they have been sitting waiting for me to make them into something. I googled mini albums to find a suitable tutorial and really loved this design. I created my album base using Primrose Petals and Very Vanilla Cardstock to tie in with the Designer Series Paper I had chosen for the project, Patio Party. This mini album is made up of 6"x6" panels which is perfect for standard 4"x6" photos if you trim them slightly to give a border around the image.

I used one of our lovely Flourish Frames for the front cover (currently found in the Autumn Winter Catalogue). I stamped the monogram using our Broadsheet Alpha in Midnight Muse. I added the '&' and the date with my Raspberry Ripple Stampin' Write Market. I mounted this onto a strip of Raspberry Ripple cardstock which I sprayed with our brand new Vanilla Shimmer Smooch Spritz to give the front cover a bit of bling. The butterflies were cut with my favourite Beautiful Wings Embosslit.

Here is the completed album unfolded. I embellished the pages with our brand new Elegant Butterfly punch and matching Papillon Potpourri Stamp Set. I used all the designs from the Patio Party Designer Series Paper as it matched the wedding colour scheme so perfectly. I also love to showcase all the patterns as it is such a shame to only use one side of the lovely papers.

To go with this album I wanted to make Natalie a birthday card. I absolutely love the new Fabulous You stamp and wanted to try heat embossing it. I tried several embossing powders until I discovered that it looked effective with plain silver against black.  I wanted a plain and simple card that showcased this beautiful and intricate set. I'm really pleased with the result (although weirdly I lost a rhinestone somewhere between making and photographing and also the card isn't so wonky in real life!)

Thank you for popping by my blog today. You can continue the hop with Alison and her fantastic circus creations using You're Amazing from our new Annual Catalogue.

A Wonderfall Birthday

Happy Monday morning to you all. I hope you had a lovely weekend.

I had a lovely Saturday afternoon spent with some crafty ladies for a Stampin' Up! party. Thank you to the lovely Angie for hosting and I look forward to delivering you a big box of Stampin' Up! goodies very soon. I will be sharing with you the make and take card we made later in the week. But I thought I would share the Demo project I made as the hostess thank you gift. Unfortunately I forgot to take a photo of the set I made for Saturday but made a similar set for my downline Sandy who celebrated her birthday on Friday.

I absolutely love the Triple Time Stamping technique and thought it would work so well with the Wonderfall stamp set. I chose the colour scheme to match the Orchard Harvest Designer Series Paper (Raspberry Ripple, Cajun Craze, More Mustard & Gumball Green). I stamped the  leaves on the card in the various different colours making sure to cross the Whisper White layers. I stamped the Teeny Tiny Wishes Happy Birthday sentiment in Raspberry Ripple.

I then created a matching sliding gift box embellished with Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon and Summer Starfruit Stitched Ribbon. I also cut and embossed leaves using the Autumn Accent bigz Die to embellish the box.

Inside the sliding drawer is a set of scented stamped tealight candles. These were stamped in matching colours using parts of the Wonderfall leaf images. I found this brilliant tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers which explained how to create stamped tealights.

I was really pleased with the effect and the tealight stamping demo went down a treat too.

Happy Monday Crafting to you.

Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more about hosting a Stampin' Up! party. I am more than happy to Demo any technique or create a make and take for your interests. Just get in touch and I'll be happy to talk you through it: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

A bit of Autumn scrapping

The theme for my September scrapbook class was Autumn. I love all the colours of this time of year and wanted to create pages that reflected  the changing of the season. I also love seasonal layouts as I can use a multitude of cheesey titles like Summer in Autumn, A very Summery Christmas etc... etc... When I sat down to plan September's class I was inspired by our new Autumn Winter Orchard Harvest papers and by this layout I'd seen on Pinterest.  I decided to give the LO a Stampin' Up! makeover and used the Orchard Harvest DSP as the basis for the colour scheme (I am still loving Raspberry Ripple a little too much in my current crafting).

I created the trunk of the tree using our new Early Espresso Coredinations cardstock which I embossed with the woodgrain folder and sanded with our new sanding system. The leaves I cut with our new die and embossed with various patterned folders. The flowers were mainly punched/stamped with the Boho Blossoms punch from the Orchard Harvest papers. The other flowers were taken from my stash. I created the pumpkins with my oval punches and Pumpkin Pie patterned papers.

This was such a fun page to make. I loved layering up dimensionals to create different layers and heights of all the embellishments. I always feel a certain level of pressure to 'do justice' to all the lovely photos I have of Summer and this page made me happy as it matched the picture perfectly.

Hope you are all having a lovely week and enjoying your mid week crafting. I'll be at Trouville Hall in Sandown on Sunday for the Crafty Islanders Craft Fayre. Please pop by and say hi. There will be a make and take and I'll be demonstrating too ;0)

And now for a couple of crafty projects for a rainy Monday. The first project is my Make and Take from the Ladies Night on Friday and my Open House on Saturday. I met a lot of lovely ladies on Friday who all enjoyed a little crafty session making this card and I welcomed customers old and new on Saturday to enjoy a bit of crafting from the new Annual Catalogue.

This card uses the new In Colors Primrose Petals and Raspberry Ripple with a touch of Old Olive and Gumball Green. The stamped images are from Betsy's Blossoms and the matching Wheel. The greeting is from Curly Cute (my go to sentiment favourite).

This is a better picture of my Christmas card I shared on Friday. I love this Pinterest inspired Candy Cane Christmas. I love using the die cut window with the Designer Series Paper showing through to make the striped candy cane design. It is finished with a Designer Button and Lucky Limeade Bakers Twine.
A very Happy Monday to you all and welcome again to all our new customers and Demonstrators from  Nederland and Österreich.

Happy Crafting ;0)

Quick and Easy Christmas Cards

My apologies for the terrible lighting in this photo. I wanted to share these two Christmas cards with you this evening and had to take pictures with only the night time lighting.

The first uses my new favourite technique, the triple time stamping technique, with the Watercolor Winter stamp set. The colour scheme is Garden Green, Cherry Cobbler, Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla. This card also uses my new favourite embellishment, the fab Ribbon Sliders.

The second card is Crumb Cake and Real Red with Designer Series Paper from the Be Of Good Cheer papers to create the candy cane (cut using the Holiday Collection Framelits Dies). The greeting is from Curly Cute.

I have been busy all day today preparing for a Ladies Night at Ryde Rowing Club tomorrow (event starts at 7.30pm). Please stop by and say hello. I will be demonstrating the cards above using gorgeous products from the new Autumn Winter Seasonal Catalogue. I have also designed a lovely Make and Take using Betsys Blossoms from the new 2012-2013 catalogue. I look forward to hopefully seeing you tomorrow and sharing my Make and Take project with you then.

And please don't forget my Open House on Saturday between 10.30am and 3.30pm. All are welcome and please feel free to bring family and friends. Please drop me and email or give me a call to find out more: poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk or 01983 609249.

Hello from the Isle of Wight

Welcome to our first ever Pinkies Blog Hop. We’ll be showcasing lots of gorgeous projects using products from the new Stampin’ Up!® Autumn Winter Seasonal Catalogue. Our blog hop buttons will help guide you on your way. We love comments, so please do tell us what you think!

Thank you for joining me today on the sunny Isle of Wight for my little piece of this fabulous Pinkies Blog Hop. You may have joined me today from Suzette's blog. What stunning projects using the Friendship Preserves set and Orchard Harvest Suite.

I absolutely adore all the new products from the Autumn Winter Catalogue so I was hard pushed to choose what to use for my project. I decided to let my photos guide my choice of product as I discovered the new Orchard Harvest Suite matched perfectly with my pumpkin photos for this double scrapbooking page layout.

I used 12"x12" Very Vanilla and More Mustard as my base colours and then designed my embellishments to match. One of my favourite new additions to the Autumn Winter Catalogue is the fantastic Core'dinations card stock which I have used here in Early Espresso. I ran this through the Big Shot using the Woodgrain Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and then sanded with the new Stampin' Sanding System.
To create my leaves I used In Color Cardstock to match the beautiful Orchard Harvest Designer Fabric in Summer Starfruit, Raspberry Ripple and Island Indigo and ran this through my Big Shot using the new Autumn Accents Bigz Die. The patterned leaves are cut from the Designer Fabric. I finished each page with a strip of lovely new 2.2cm Cotton Ribbon (also fantastic for stamping on I have discovered!), a Flourish Designer Frame and a Brushed Bronze Designer Button.

Thank you for joining me today. You can continue hopping by jumping on over to my upline Michelle Last's blog. She has made some beautiful Christmas projects using the Ornament Bundle.
