Flourish Thank You

Happy Monday to you all.

I hope you all had a lovely weekend. It was a mixed bag weather wise here on the Isle of Wight but we still managed to get out and take Summer for a walk on the beach (with a stop off for some gorgeous sweet potato fries).

I held my monthly card class on Saturday and this is one of the cards we made this month. This was our quick stamp class closer (for when we're all tired and need an easier project to finish the class). It was inspired by this card that I had seen on Pinterest and knew would be perfect for our new Flourish Frames. My Stampin' Up! version of the card uses the flourish from Creative Elements stamped with Black Stazon on to a Crumb Cake card base. We then coloured the outlined areas with a White Gel Pen. We attached a gorgeous new Flourish Designer Frame over part of the stamped flourish with dimensionals. To finish we glued butterflies cut with the Beautiful Wings Embosslit on to the stamped card. These butterflies are cut from lovely new In Colour Primrose Petals cardstock.

Last Chance List items are selling out fast so please get in touch asap to place your order. And another date for your diary, I'm holding a new catalogue launch Open House on Saturday October 6th from 10.30am- 3.30pm. Please pop by and pick up your copy of the new Stampin' Up! Catalogue.

Elegant Eggplant Birthday

Here is a card we made at last month's card class. This was inspired by a card I had seen on Pinterest by a talented Canadian Stampin' Up! Demonstrator.  It uses the Flirtacious papers (Wisteria Wonder compliments the Elegant Eggplant card base perfectly) and the Creative Elements stamp set. To create the butterfly we used the rock n roll technique using Wisteria Wonder and Elegant Eggplant ink pads.
You'll notice the reappearance of my favourite mini flowers punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack and embellished with the tiny pearls. This card also uses my newest purchase, the Designer Frames Textured Impressions Embossing Set (for the Big Shot). I love this aged vintage look around the frame (I sponge daubered with Elegant Eggplant).

The ribbon is Very Vanilla Satin and the Elegant Eggplant sentiment (from Curly Cute) is stamped onto a Crumb Cake panel.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend planned. I'll be catching up with old friends and hopefully working on the baby's room a bit more ;0)

Card class part two

Welcome back and thanks for visiting again today ;0)

Here is the first of my shares for today. This is the card that didn't make it into last months card class. I loved it and had started to prep it when I realised it was near identical to a card we had made before. I might have a go at designing a centre step card like this using different papers for February's class as I love this style. This card features Nature Walk and the matching retired papers from last years Mini Catalogue. This beautiful set is still available in the Main Ideas Book and Catalogue and remains one of my favourites to stamp with. The bird is one of my favourite images to stamp in Early Espresso and then colour with watercolour crayons.
I always like to finish each  class with a quick and easy card (we're usually flagging after a 3D project and two more intricate cards). This was inspired by a lovely card I'd seen my upline Michelle make. I used different papers but kept the striking contrast between the black and bright colours. The DSP is Flirtacious from the main catalogue and the flourish and butterfly are from Creative Elements. I created the greeting to fit the circle using the Happy Birthday from Party This Way. I only coloured half the sentiment and stamped and then cleaned and coloured the other half and stamped.

My workshop makes from the weekend

Here are the two projects we made at Saturdays workshop. I loosely themed the workshop around Valentines Day but wanted to keep the colour scheme less obviously romance themed so the items could be used for various occasions.

The card was inspired by one I saw on In Love With Stamping. It was perfect for showing off the fab new Postage Stamp punch and matching Perfect Postage stamp set. The colour scheme is Rose Red and Elegant Eggplant.

The box is an upside down Petal Cone which I thought would be perfect for table settings with the addition of a name and a little gift inside.

Projects use:

Punches: 1-1/4" Square, Postage Stamp, Heart to Heart, Modern Label, Scallop Trim and Corner, Full Heart
Cardstock: Whisper White, Rose Red, Elegant Eggplant
Big Shot Dies: Petal Cone, Scalloped Heart of Hearts
Stamps: Perfect Postage, Creative Elements, Just Believe

Thanks for stopping by today and Happy Crafting ;0)

2nd LO for this weeks scrapbooking class

So yesterdays layout got me to thinking about scrapbooking winter and trying to think outside the box colourwise. I had a flick through my ever growing 'to be scrapped' photo box and found these two snow pictures that I took the Christmas before last. I thought these would be a perfect starting point for a winter LO.   I then decided to mount a previously unused and brand new stampset, Creative Elements, which I received in my convention bag last year. I had seen a similar flourish used on a winter layout in a magazine and thought the contrasting Riding Hood Red and Whisper White worked well together.

The technique for this layout is the use of stamping on the paper daisies. A beautiful (and always matching) technique I have seen used on a lot of card and scrapbooking projects and perfect for this Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red and Soft Suede themed page. Sadly the designer papers I used are now retired but they give a lovely contrast to the usual winter colour schemes.

I would also just like to point out that there is a rogue piece of scrap paper in the photo above. The lower left hand corner 'corner flourish' was actually discarded but somehow made it into the picture anyways.

I'm really looking forward to teaching this class on Thursday now and maybe even sitting and getting through some more of my 'to be scrapped' photos at the weekend too ;0)

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting ;0)
