It's My Party Class Makes from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Happy Monday crafty friends ;0)

How was your weekend? We've had a lovely one here as my Mum's dog Kala came to stay and the girls absolutely loved having her here (or 'babysitting' her as Summer says). We walked her to the park and spent some time making her dinner and fussing over her bedding. So all in all it was a great time had by all.

I wanted to share with you a series of projects I put together for my 'It's My Party' creative class a couple of months back. Through the afternoon we made 4 cards and an envelope pouch to keep them all in. We used the colours from the DSP as our focus- Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry and Mint Macaron.

The first card uses the Balloon Celebration Bundle. Can you see I added a little Wink of Stella detailing to the balloons to give a bit of dimension.

I've seen these split/peek a boo style cards a lot on Pinterest and thought these gorgeous patterned papers would work perfectly. I added the Party Wishes sentiment as my stamped element behind the folded back section. I also added extra texture with the It's My Party Enamel Dots.

I saw a rainbow effect card on Pinterest and decided to have a go myself. It was a bit of a manoeuvre for everyone to get all the balloons stamped. But we got there in the end. I loved going through my ink pads to create this Stampin' Up! rainbow.

And the final card we made used the Confetti Textured Impressions Embossing Folder as the focus. I used a dauber to add the ink colours to the embossed Whisper White. We then added the other stamped elements to the central space.

All the cards plus their envelopes fitted in to this Envelope Punch Board pouch. We used a 12" piece of the It's My Party DSP and the punch board. The whole envelope was held together with a contrasting belly band.

A Balloon Celebration Slider Pop Up Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Good morning crafters. How is your week going? It has been a busy one here with catching up on a weeks worth of work. I've also been completing the second of my Stitch Along owls. Hopefully he should be finished today and I can share a picture with you on Friday.

I have seen a lot of these Pop Up Slider Cards around on the internet recently. I really love the idea of the surprise pop up element. So I decided to have a go at teaching this card at my last card class. For my colour scheme I used the Cherry on Top Cardstock pack as my inspiration- Watermelon Wonder and Bermuda Bay.

To create my card I used a fantastic Splitcoast Stampers tutorial (you can find it here). Once I had all my elements cut I covered my base with birthday images from the Party Wishes stamp set. I also stamped my balloon panel. I used the 'stamping off' technique to get the differing tones for my balloons (ink up your stamp and then stamp on to a piece of scrap paper before stamping on to your main project giving a lighter tone to your stamping). I stamped two balloons on to a spare piece of Whisper White and punched with the coordinating Balloon Punch and mounted with Dimensionals.

This is what the card looks like folded flat (this would fit in to a standard sized envelope).

This is the pop up section at the top of the card. I stamped with the Party Wishes sentiment and added detail from the Balloon Celebration stamp set.

Thank you for popping by today. Pop back on Friday for more craftiness. Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up!, Sale-A-Bration or any of our new products. A Bright Balloon Celebration Card from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Hello lovely crafty friends. How was your weekend? I had a lovely time with my card class ladies. I pushed the boat out this month and cooked two fab Waitrose seasonal recipes I'd picked up in store. I baked Orange, Ginger and Date Cookies and a Sweet Potato & Apricot Cake. I don't often have an excuse to bake so really enjoyed making them.

I have a Balloon Celebration card to share today. I absolutely love stamping with this set. It is one of my fun to stamp with favourites. And even better this is one of the great value bundles in the Spring Summer catalogue. The bundle includes the Balloon Punch and matching Balloon Celebration stamp set.

I picked a combination of brights ink pads for my balloons - Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango & Tempting Turquoise. To bring out the contrast between the two layers (the balloons have two stamps- the main image and then the textured layer you stamp over the top giving the spotted effect) I stamped off first when I stamped the main balloon to give a paler tone. I then stamped the textured layer directly over the top.

I then cut a Vellum layer to fit centrally over the balloons. I used the Botanicals for You Sale-A-Bration set to gold heat emboss the sentiment. I attached my vellum layer with four glue dots (one in each corner). I have found this is the most discreet way to adhere vellum without the glue being too noticeable.
