Home Sweet Home Card

I spent the last week writing and sending my birth announcements and thank you cards to friends and family. My Aunt has recently moved house so with her thank you note I also wanted to post a New Home card too. I had a quick look on Pinterest and found a card very similar to the above. I used it as my inspiration to create a Stampin' Up! version.

For this I used scraps from my Brights Designer Series Paper Stack (Tempting Turquoise, Read Red, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Rich Razzleberry) and cut squares using my square punch. I cut some of the squares in half to make the roof triangles. I cut a Real Red scallop edging using the scallop punch and the grass was cut from Pear Pizzazz using my Edgelit Die (one of the best new products from the Stampin' Up! Summer Mini Catalogue). I couldn't lay my hands on a New Home sentiment but I did come across a card I had been given when I moved into my house (5 years ago!) so I cut the sentiment from that to finish this card along with a length of string I found in my Mum's craft tote (I was looking for linen thread and came across this instead).

This is my first official bit of crafting since having Summer and I am pretty pleased with the result.  I am now busily prepping all my card kits for my card class on the 23rd June. If you'd like to book your spot i still have a couple of spaces, get in touch on 609249 or poulton_sarah@yahoo.co.uk.

Circle Circus Scrapbook Layout 2

Back to work today! If only every day was a bank holiday ;0) Still its a 4 day working week which is always something to smile about ;0)

So here is the second of this months Circle Circus scrapbook pages. I was inspired by the Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Papers for this layout. It just happened that the photos I picked out also matched the colours perfectly.

I started by creating the lined base layers of DSP and creating the border using the Scallop Trim punch and Night of Navy cardstock. I then ran a length of Concord Crush stitched ribbon down the left hand side to give me a guide for sticking my various sized circles. As with yesterdays layout I stamped the different circles from the stamp set in different shades of blue onto Very Vanilla, Baja Breeze & Marina Mist cardstock. I then punched with the coordinating punches. For this layout I glued some circles flat and then layered other circles up  with dimensionals (and on some I used smaller circles to create layers upon layers). I also saved three circles to create the smaller embellishment on the right hand side.

I hope these two layouts have given you a new perspective on Circle Circus. I love using the same stamp set in different ways and seeing how different colour schemes change the effect of the images. Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with another project to share ;0)

Card Class Makes Part 2

So here is how I spent my afternoon. I made this matching set of a card and Top Note gift bag using the beautiful Blueberry Crisp Designer Series Paper.

The card is made with the Always Elegant stampset. The colour scheme is Not Quite Navy, Very Vanilla and Pacific Point (ink). I have embellished the beautiful flourish with basic pearls. Other tools used: Scallop Edge Punch, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch.
 The matching set:
I made this bag using the Big Shot Top Note die, Scallop Circle die and to embellish I used a designer button and a length of Baja Breeze Seam Binding Ribbon. Again the papers are the stunning Blueberry Crisp DSP. I cannot believe I have had these in my paper box unopened for a couple of months. I am so in love with them now. I have already planned my weekly journal page using these papers.
And I would have used a crafting circle of velcro to hold the flap down, however, I remembered just as I finished the project that I had used them all to suspend my glitter glues upside down in my craft room, so a dimensional works just as well ;0)

Happy Friday Crafting to you all. Hooray for the weekend I say ;0)

Nature Walk Workshop Make

Bet you were all wondering where my Nature Walk crafting had gone? I cannot get enough of this stamp set. I just love everything about it (and its matching Botanical Gazette Designer Series Paper). Its never off my craft desk at the moment.

I took my inspiration for this workshop make from a card I'd seen Monica Gale make over on her blog. I thought this would be perfect for my upcoming workshop with a lovely group of local crafting ladies. I also got to use my favourite Big Shot die, the Top Note, again.

For this card I used:

Colours: Cherry Cobler, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Always Artichoke

DSP: Newsprint and Botanical Gazette
Stamps: Oval All and Nature Walk
Top Note Die
Scallop Trim Edge Punch

Happy crafting all ;0)
