Swan Lake Watercolouring from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Happy Monday Crafty Friends.

How was your weekend? Did you get up to anything exciting? I had a play with some watercolouring and some new stamp sets I ordered from the Spring Summer catalogue. I enjoyed just creating and seeing where I ended up. We are on the last few days of Sale-A-Bration now so it is the perfect time to treat yourself to a few crafty essentials. I thoroughly recommend ordering a new stamp set and just seeing where the making takes you.

Here is one of the cards I created. I saw something similar on Pinterest and had a go myself. I started with a Whisper White card base that I scored to give the double layered frame top and bottom. I then positioned the images from Swan Lake within the lines and coloured with my Watercolour Pencils (blending over the top with a Blender Pen and highlighting the water with a little Clear Wink of Stella).

And this is the inside. I love the way the sentiment carries over to the inside. And those little cygnets are just too cute.

I enjoyed colouring and playing with texture and blending to create this card. And I love the simplicity of creating a card with just a simple Whisper White base and everything coming from simple stamping.

Watercolour Big on Birthdays Notecards from Stampin' Up! UK Demonstrator Sarah Poulton

Happy Friday crafty friends. Hope you've had a good week and enjoyed a little sunshine wherever in the world you are. The Isle of Wight has had a couple of really lovely bright days this week.

What does your weekend have in store for you craft wise? I am making good progress with my patchwork quilt so will devote some time to getting some more rows of that stitched I think. Plus my other half is off camping tomorrow so I'll have an entire evening to watch Greys Anatomy and stitch- my perfect Saturday night.

I have a set of 4 cards to share with you today. I was experimenting with creating watercolor backgrounds with my acrylic blocks. For these cards I used some brightly coloured Twinkling H2Os I found in my crafty stash (not Stampin' Up! matching colours i'm afraid). That is what gives these cards their shimmer. As I have done with my Stampin' Up! ink pads in the past I applied the H2O paints directly to the acrylic block and sprayed with my Stampin' Spritzer. I then squished the block on to my Whisper White to give me the watercoloured mixed colour background.

Once I let the backgrounds dry a little I used the sentiments from the Big on Birthdays stamp set from Stampin' Up! with my Memento Black ink to stamp over the top of the watercoloured background.

To finish I added a little rhinestone bling for added sparkle.

Hoping you all have a lovely crafty weekend. Please let me know if you have any questions about Stampin' Up! and their products. I would be happy to help. Double Flip Circle Thinlit Card with Stampin' Up!'s Wetlands Stamp Set

A very happy crafty Thursday to you all. It is weigh in day at Slimming World today so wish me luck.

I wanted to share this card we made at my card class this month with you today. I love this double flip thinlit idea using the Circle Card Thinlits Die. It is so simple to create by running your card through the die twice (making sure the end of your card sits over the die not under so it isn't cut. I used this tuturial from France Martin to create my card base).

Here is more information on the Thinlits Card Dies from Stampin' Up!

I created my card base with the Natural Composition Designer Series Speciality Paper attached to the Crumb Cake card to run through the Big Shot with the die (this creates a perfectly matched flip card without worrying about lining up the card parts after). I used the Hardwood background stamped on Very Vanilla for the middle panel. The two circles were punched using my 2 1/2" Circle Punch from Watercolour Paper. We then used an Aquapainter with So Saffron, Bermuda Bay and Calypso Coral inkpads to wash the background. The Wetlands images were then stamped over the top (once the watercolouring had dried) using Old Olive and Chocolate Chip ink.

I love this neutral wood effect stamping and will really miss the Natural Compositions Papers when they leave the catalogue (only a month left to enjoy them!).

I hope you liked my crafty share today. Please get in touch if I have missed anything out or you would like any more information.
